The Star of the Game by Courtney
The Star of the Game
By Courtney
Shoot, dribble, pass, fake, run, sprint. Be the superstar, win. Show them who you really are. I was made to be on this league, be that girl. Run swiftly across the court; shoot that ball right in the basket with a swish. Pump those legs up and down, fight for that ball. Let nothing stop you from playing the game you love. The only words bouncing in my head.
I was now off the bus and in my fifth grade homeroom at school. During school I could not concentrate, all I could think about was basketball tryouts. In social studies, Mrs. Lenson called “Emily come up to the board please,” I was dreaming; Mrs. Lenson had to call my name three times to get me up to the board; it was embarrassing. In Mr. Clayton’s class, science, I could not quite figure out the experiment so I gazed out the window. Two periods later it was lunch time, finally friends and voices. When I dashed in the lunch room I found my friend Paige, she had already started eating and had a place saved for me, I quickly got my tray and went through the line for food, then came and sat next to Paige. I said “The morning has been so boring; I can never seem to listen the whole time.”
“Me either,” said Paige. We laughed and giggled with each other for the rest of lunch.
After school was over Paige’s mom came to pick us up to get to tryouts on time. When Paige and I hopped into the car, Paige’s mom said, “How was school for you girls today? Paige and I shrugged.
“Okay I guess” replied Paige.
“Well, I hope you girls are warmed up for your tryouts today.” said Paige’s Mom. Finally, we climbed out of the car and went inside the sweaty gym. When Paige and I got inside, there was a woman behind a table that asked us for our names and school, she gave us pennies to wear also. We dropped our bags and started to shoot and pass by the other girls that we trying out too. Finally, when every girl showed up, we had to line up shortest to tallest. Paige was very tall, so she headed to the taller side. I was regular height, so I started to the middle of the long line of girls. I saw some familiar faces; some of the girls were from my school, Brookview elementary school. Next, I got my place in line and stood there, I was slightly on the taller side, so I wasn’t on the shorter side of the gym. Now, the lead coach of the high school girls split us into two parts. I sighed with relief, I was with Paige. The coach said, “Girls, you will be in different stations and will be tested on how well you shoot, dribble, pass and many other skills. How well you do will determine what team you will be on, A team, B team, or C team.” All of the girls moved to the stations they were assigned to. I started at a dribbling station. The guy at the station said “dribble through those cones ahead.” So I dribbled down head up, looking at the cones ahead. After about ten minutes all the girls had gone through the cones twice we switched stations. Now I was at a passing station. I was across from a girl who I did not want to say, but was a not very good player. Every pass I made was perfect, but she could not catch anyone that came to her. When the girl passed to me it was sloppy but I new I had to catch everyone. Finally, I was over with the passing station and onto the last station, shooting. First, I had to shoot layups, then free throws, and other shots around the court. I made every shot but two, I messed up on one layup and a shot on the right side of the court. Luckily now, tryouts were over, so Paige and I grabbed our bags and waited outside for my mom to pick us up.
When my mom and I got home from dropping Paige off, food was ready for dinner. My dad is a great cook. He only could cook on the weekends because he usually gets home from work late. Although Mrs. Bengal is still a great cook. Right when I plopped through the door with my heavy big bag, I smelled it, one of the best smells in the world. From that moment I knew what my family was going to have for dinner that night, I smelled delicious white rice, sweet and sour chicken, with wonderful fortune cookies for desert. Daddy wasn’t home yet from work but my older brothers were home. One was on the computer doing homework and the other writing an essay for class. The oldest brother (writing the essay) is Matt, and the one on the computer is Torren. Both of them are pretty nice. When dad is home, around five to five thirty we eat dinner. I started with my backpack into the homework room, where my brothers were doing their homework. A few minutes later my mom called “Time for dinner, come in the kitchen kids.” As soon as the entire family got served op my dad prayed for the meal and everyone started chomping, my mom said, “Well Emily how was tryouts today?” “It was long, when I was in a passing station; I was across from a girl that could not catch a chest pass or a bounce pass. She could not pass the ball very good either. I feel bad for her,” I replied. “Always one of those kind of players,” dad said.
Matt said “I remember tryouts when I was your age, nobody was very good, but my friend Joe, couple of other guys I didn’t know, and me.” “Of course you” I said laughing. Torren didn’t talk much, he was a quieter kid. I had no idea why he was so quiet though. “Hi and lows everyone, Torren you first,” said Mrs. Bengel. Torren said “Hi, in science class we did explosion experiment, lo, L.A. because our class was doing a reading quiz that was really boring.” That was about how much he says at night. After mom, dad, and Matt had said their hi’s and lo’s it was my turn. I said, “Hi, kickball at recess and my lo passing at tryouts.” That night before bed I was shaking, I was so nervous that I would not get on a good team, also that I would not be with Paige.
“Honey wake up, time to get ready for school,” called Mom. “Huh” I yawned. “Time to get ready for school,” mom said sounding a little stricter this time. I yawned, “Okay I’ll get up.” “Good, get downstairs in ten minutes, then breakfast will be on the table,” said Mrs. Bengel. When mom left the room I hurried to my closet. Finally, I found the perfect outfit and put in on, blue shorts with pink stripes down the sides and a pink shirt with light pink flowers. I made my bed, picked up my room and went into my bathroom. I brushed my teeth, combed my hair and put a pink flower in it. When I got downstairs pancakes were on the table with sausage and bacon. I ate all of the good food in no time. “This is delicious” I said. “Thank you” mom said. Torren and Matt were already off to school by the time I got downstairs. After I made my lunch, and packed my bag I started toward my bus stop. There were already three other jumping kids at the bus stop. There are six kids total counting me. After two minutes I saw two other kids with worried faces on the sidewalk running to our bus stop because, the bus turning a corner coming toward us. Finally I was on the bus sitting next to Paige talking about basketball. When we got to school I said, “Bye Paige, see you at lunch.” “You to,” Paige called back. After lunch the girls went to recess and played one on one basketball together. The rest of the day was tiring, I had math class. Math is the hardest for me, and I always make silly mistakes. I was glad to hop on the bus and sit back down next to my best friend Paige after school.
“Emily!” Mom yelled in an excited voice when I got home from school, “You made the A-TEAM!” I screamed back, “TEAM MICHIGAN?!” Mom smiled, “Yes! Time to celebrate with chocolate chip cookies and milk!” “Good job little sis,” said Matt. “Yea nice job,” Torren agreed. I got a big brother hug from each of my brothers.
“Ahhhhh!” I screamed together with Paige. We were talking on the phone, “I got on the A-Team, Michigan,” we both said at the exact same time so we didn’t understand each other. “You first” said Paige. “Okay,” I began, “I made the A-Team, Michigan!” “No way me too!” Paige exclaimed. “I am so happy we are on the same team together!” I said. Paige said, “It will be so much fun being on the same team this year! But sorry I got to run, I have this party my mom planned at a park and I have to help set up, and other stuff.” “Okay see ya!” I said. “See ya” Paige echoed.
One week later Paige and I had our first practice. When I got there the coach said, “What is your name? My name is Mr. Smith. I am going to be your coach this season.” “I am Emily Bengel, nice to meet you Coach Smith.” I said. “Glad to have you on our team,” The coach replied. When everyone got to the practice, we met each other. I recognized a few girls, others were from different schools. We did dribbling, passing and layups. I knew all of the drills, so this was easy. Every shot I made went in except for a four. Sweat was rolling down my face when it was water break. I loved basketball. I was so happy to be playing, especially on Team Michigan.
“How was your first practice today?” asked mom in the car from picking me up. “It was awesome to see all of the girls on my team and to simply play basketball,” I replied. “Well, you’re sweaty, so take a shower and go to bed,” said mom. When I finished taking a shower I brushed my teeth, put on my pajamas and went to bed.
The next morning I had an alarm that woke me up at seven, with a beep, beep, beep, beeeeep, before I pressed the button, and then I got out of bed. Today I dressed in blue basketball shorts with a white stripe down the side and a shirt that said ‘EBA’ it stands for Edina Basketball Association. I brushed my teeth and cleaned my room until it was spotless. I poured myself a glass of milk and put some cereal in a bowl. I packed for school and I was able to read a little bit before I had to walk to the bus stop. My mom had been on the computer doing business work this morning because things were a little busy. Finally when it was time to go to the bus stop I looked out the window and saw five other kids already there. I dashed over to them hoping I wasn’t late, but I could already see that the bus coming toward the stop so I started to sprint and I got there just after the last person was stepping on to the bus stairs. I was very happy to see Paige that morning so I said, “Hello Paige, how are you going today?” “I feel great, thank you! You seem very cheerful this morning” said Paige. “Well I do feel very cheerful today” I said. It felt great to have a good friend like Paige. When we got to school I ran toward my homeroom because I knew that the bell would ring any second. Later in the day I was in social studies, Mrs. Lenson was the teacher. Social studies is not my best strength, so I have to give my full attention during class. I felt that I did well in social studies today, I understood the concept well. In science it was all about experiments on water. This week was about evaporation. I did a nice job on that. After gym and music it was lunch, and that meant talking. This time Paige was not at a table waiting for, me, she was with a bunch of other girls I didn’t know and there was no more seats left at that table. So I went to sit with some other girls that I knew. During recess I was on the swing all alone, I felt so lonely, I saw Paige and the other girls all laughing. At the end of the day I went to the carpool lane because my mom was going to pick me up from school that day.
That night I had another practice. I was excited but not, at the same time because I would not be buds with Paige anymore. I wondered why Paige would suddenly stop being friends with me, it does not sound like her at all, and she would tell me if something was wrong. I wondered about that all in the car to basketball practice. Finally, when I go to practice, I saw Paige. I tried not to look at her, but I sometimes just had to. I went to the coach and told him I was here and I started shooting. I could not make a single shot. So then I just passed the ball to the wall and dribbled it around. When we started you had to pick a partner to pass with and I chose Jamie, another girl from my school. My passing was lousy. Something had to be wrong. The coach called for a one-on-one game. I could not make any shots at all. I was glad when my dad came to pick me up. I gulped down my water bottle and my feelings.
That night it felt great to get a cool, soothing shower. I was so sweaty. I brushed my teeth, combed my hair, put on my pajamas, put my clothes down the laundry shute and went to bed. After my parents came in to say good night, I thought hard about Paige and the odd friend situation. A few tears dripped down my cheek.
That morning I woke up at nine and it was Saturday, so no rush to get up and go to school. The only thing on my mind was the basketball game at one o-clock. It would be my first game and I didn’t want to miss it. At twelve-thirty, I started to pack up and head to the game. Matt was driving me today, and he wanted to see how good I really am at basketball. I was going to show him. When I got there I saw Paige, I had to talk to her, we have to get this problem sorted out. Besides there were fifteen more minutes left before the game starts. I hurried over to Paige, I said, “Paige we need to talk,”
“Okay,” said Paige. We went out to the hallway. “About yesterday” I began, “Why did you go with the other girls at lunch and recess?”
“What happened was that Angie pulled me over to sit with her and the other girls; I tried to say that I was going to sit with you, but they would not listen. I did not want to be rude so I sat with them, I planned to play with you at recess but they wouldn’t listen to me that time either,” replied Paige.
“Oh I’m sorry I thought you were trying to be mean to me,” I said.
“Friends?” asked Paige.
“Friends,” I replied.
“Girls” said Coach Smith, “Time to get playing,” That night the Paige and I passed and played picks for each other, made baskets and won the game for the team. Matt said, “Sis, never new you were that good.”
“I showed you” I told him back. The whole team went out for ice cream at Dairy Queen. When I got home I took a quick shower and hoped into bed.
On Monday morning I woke up and smelled egg bake coming out of the oven so I jumped out of bed and quickly got ready for school and raced to the kitchen to find that egg bake sitting on the counter waiting for me. Cut a big piece and ate it in a heart beat. I love egg bake, what is better than it. I had to take another piece it was just too good. When I packed my bag I climbed on the bus and Paige and I talked on and on about how sorry we were about the misunderstanding. School that day was fine; the first period was social studies today. In science the experiment was fun, and in gym we played nine base, which was exciting.
When the girls met up again at the next game that night. We won again to this team, Paige and I did the same great passing, picks, and shooting, the other girls on the team helped too. So far the team was undefeated; it was a very good feeling. “I bet you got your basketball skills from me, Emily” said Matt.
“In your dreams Matt” I said back. After that game I could only think about how Paige had gotten pulled away from me, she did, want to sit with me, but she couldn’t. I never thought it had happened that way.
One month later it was the championship game, our team still undefeated. I was so happy that my team had made it to the championship game. The other teams were easy, but this team was another A team. Before we started the game my team all yelled “Team Michigan!” Then the tallest girl Jamie was in the middle ready for the tip. The ball shoots up in the air and Jamie hits it to me I caught it and started dribbling down the court. I passed the ball to Paige she caught it and shot it at the basket and made it in. The crowd cheered loudly. Now the other team has the ball, I was guarding the girl with the ball. When she passed the ball I tried to stop it but I was to slow to get there on time. Lizzie was guarding the girl with the ball now; the girl shot the ball to the basket and made it in. By half time the score was close, 18-17 my team in the lead. During the last half Paige and I were working very hard and were helping each other make baskets. At five seconds on the clock I had just gotten the rebound and I was sprinting down the court, three seconds, two seconds, the ball soared into the air, the ball bounced into the basket beeeeep! The crowd screamed, I won the game for my team. After the game I got lots of pats on the back and nice jobs from everyone. I ran up to Paige and hugged her; she had set a pick for me to make the basket! My team went out for ice cream at Dairy Queen; I ordered a large vanilla cone. I still couldn’t believe I won!

“Hi I’m Frank, my life is not like your everyday life. You see my parents are divorced

Step in life called… The finding of happiness ”
It was a steaming Saturday afternoon, but the sun was shinning and kids were having fun and all. Just not me, It’s been like that since Alex best friend died in a car accident.
Slap! “What I tell you about sneaking to your moms house without permission from me? You know the rule right! No going over there again you hear?!” My dad said and slapped me in anger.
“I’m sorry dad buts it’s a really hot day!” I replied,
“well sorry doesn’t fix this crap.” He snapped back,
“I hate you!” I said as I ran out he door grabbing his car keys and charging out the door.
“You better come back here now! Don’t make me count to three! 1, 2, 3! Now you’re going to get it!” My dad said on his way to breaking open the windows. I struggled to get the car key in the ignition, I got it, VROOOM! I was off! I twisted and turned (I think I hit a cat). I arrived, a slammed my fist against her front door, SLAM! She opened the door and as soon as she did, she looked at my cheek, and then she asked, “Who did this to you honey?”
“Dad.” I replied starting to feel light headed, then starting to cry, “Oh Frank you are going to live with me ok?” She asked with a slight grin on her face. “I thought you’d never ask.” I said as started to giggle, and then gave her a big hug. (7 years later…) I had a flash back of how my life was before people thought of me as a clown, “What a nerd, he has no chance of getting friends until he’s 90 years old.” I heard voices say in the 7th grade hallway. “Life stinks!” I sighed, and then I thought, why can’t I be like Michael Fernandez? He’s nerdy and still has 1 billion friends. “Hello children at Hillside elementary, we have a new student coming, Kyle Ceedings. Please be as nice as you can to our new student, Thank you.” A voice said on the intercom. Then I thought, hey I can try to be nice to Kyle and maybe we can become friends like me and Alex! (Tomorrow) Gulp. I slowly looked around at the students starring at me, I walked up to Kyle who was on the swing-set alone, by himself, no one looking at me and say, “What a dork!” or, “your lame Frank!” I took a deep breath, looked at Kyle in the eye, and said, “Hey Kyle wanna go to Smoothie Central? Ahhhhhh after school?” I was scary, what was he going to say? But then One little Word came out of his mouth, “Ya, That would be awesome.” Was he kidding? Oh my goodness! Yes! Y-E-S! Yippee! I can’t believe it! Finally, Friendship! Once again! (Tomorrow!) A lady in a pink coat came up to Kyle and I and said, “What kind of smoothie would you like? Today’s special is the mint strawberry smoothie.” Then Kyle and I interrupted,
“Ya two Mint Strawberry smoothies,”
“Ok then to Mint Strawberry smoothies,” The waiter said under her breath, “coming right up.” She said aloud. Then Kyle asked me, “So Who is your best friend?”
“Well. Ya! Ummmmm, I don’t really have any friends anymore, you see my Best friend Alex died two weeks ago and life has, what you would call it, Sucked!” I replied,
“Well it’s not your fault that people don’t like you.” Kyle replied,
“Ya I guess so. Ya your right!” I replied,
“Lets go to the barber shop, My treat.”
“But why?” I asked,
“Ummm, Look in the mirror. And come here tomorrow and see if we can score some chicks.” Kyle replied
(Tomorrow)
“I’m not sure about this. I mean what if they think I’m ugly?” I said concerned,
“You’ll be fine. So. See any cut girls?” Kyle asked,
“jeez this is my first time, unlike you. Mr. Mr. Ummm, Mr. Coolieo!” I said,
“Witch one is she?” Kyle asked,
“Table 17 Brown shirt, pink shirt, Brown hair.” I replied, Then Kyle shoved me at her table,
“What’s goin on?” I said like a nervous little girl saying hi to her grandpa,
“Nothing… Are you asking me to go on a date with you?” She asked me,
“how’d you know?” I asked,
“Well you said it like a nervous little girl saying hi to her grandpa. I’m Emma by the way. And yes I would like to go see Flippie on Friday at 6:50, My parents will drive us to AMC theaters.”
She said. Then I thought to myself wow that went faster then I thought It would.
“Ok. See you on Friday” I said out loud to her.
(Friday)
Ding-Dong! I heard the door-bell ring,
“Coming!” I said to whoever was at the door,
“Hey… I actually never got your name.” Emma said as I opened the door,
“Kyle. So you ready to go?” I asked,
“Ya.” Emma said as we ran out the door. I was psyched!
“Hey so you exc… I paused I looked through the front window, a car was coming straight at us. BOOM! BANG! DID I MAKE IT ALIVE? WHERE AM I?!

Morkie by Kathryn
Chapter 1
Charlie saw the glaring lights, she heard the barking and whining of the puppies, the squawking of birds, and the squeaking of mice. She saw the faces of the dogs light up as she entered the room. The whole place seemed magical. As she walked around she took it all in and then right in front of her… the perfect puppy.
Chapter 2
“I have been waiting only 2 minutes for their employee to bring me the puppy to hold, but it seems like forever.’’ ’’Two minutes later she comes holding that puppy like a baby.’’ She tells me to “be carful” I tell her ok. she picked her up and she sat in her lap as mellow and calm as possible. She pet her soft hair and scratched her small ears and she sat there like a stuffed animal and right then and there I knew she was perfect.
Charlie asked her parents with her best puppy dog eyes to please get her. Charlie’s mom said no. She said it was to much money and that they didn’t have space for her. Her heart was crushed. As she walked through the pet shop doors she just got even sadder. In the car she leaned on her mom and cried.
Chapter 3
As Charlie and her mom drove to Target on the bumpy road she looked out of the window and day dreamed about her dog, and when they got there Charlie bought a notebook with puppies on the front and back. She did this because she had a plan. Her plan was to use that notebook to write any facts she finds on the computer or books, and that might get her parents convinced that she could take care of a dog herself. So she started working.
Chapter 4
May 26, 2010
‘’Charlie’’ called her mom ‘’lunch is ready.’’ ‘’I’m not done with research, and it’s really interesting.’’ Charlie wrote in her diary… “I have been working almost all day today. It has to work I have been figuring out stuff like what type of bowl to get, and that’s the kind that is heavy so the dog doesn’t tip it over and it can’t have led in the metal or paint so the dog doesn’t get sick, and a bunch of other stuff, I have to go eat lunch now but I’ll see you in a little bit.”
Chapter 5 May 27, 2010
’’Guess what!’’ ’’Yesterday the neighbors got a dog!’’ I sprinted over to meet the new dog it was small and fuzzy. I couldn’t believe they got one and I have working and waiting longer. I asked what type it was and they said it was a Morkie. She played on their trampoline but only for a little because she wanted to get home and do some research on Morkies to see if they were a good math for her. They were! They don’t shed, they are lap dogs, and much more. She has a whole page in her notebook for information on morkies and she was hoping to find more much.
Chapter 6
The bell just rang and she could finally leave school. She walked home with some of her friends and as she talked she heard the wind whistling through the tree tops, and the rustling of bushes as animals ran into them. She talked and listened until they had to go separate ways. When I got home I went to the kitchen to get a snack. When I sat down to eat my animal crackers I heard a noise it sounded like whining. I thought it was the wind. I started eating. Then I heard it again. I slowly walked up to my room to see what it was and there was a puppy sitting on my bed. Then my parents came to the door. They said ’’we know you have been waiting a long time and worked very hard and we made up our minds that it was time.’’ she ran over to them and gave them a huge hug. ’’thank you so much ’’ she said. After they finished talking, she picked up the puppy. She was so warm and fuzzy. She looked up at me. She said ’’I am going to name you Muzzy because you are so fuzzy!’’ She licked her face and she laughed she knew she was perfect.

Robbing a Bank by Lauren
Robbing a Bank
By, Lauren
Chapter One
I ran and started to panic. I thought to myself should I really be robbing my fathers bank? Wait, yes I should to keep my family safe. Well, I really wanted to say no but I really couldn’t. So I grabbed the money and left as quickly and as quietly as I could. The next day at school I went right up to my girlfriend Jane and said, “Uh… We really need to talk after school today.”
“What happened honey? You look a little nervous.” Jane said.
“A little nervous? How about a lot!” I said.
“What happened Jason? You’re making me scared.” Jane said very seriously.
“No. Meet me at Snuffy’s after school. Okay? Then I’ll tell you.”
“Okay! But, don’t you dare make me eat any meat.”
“Why?”
“Because I am now a vegetarian!” Jane said so proudly of herself.
“Really! I am so proud of you!” Saying like I cared a lot more than I do.
“Okay see you after school.”
“Okay!” I said happily.
After school
“Okay Jason. Tell me what happened. I was thinking about it all day at school and I’m kind of exited.” Jane said.
“Don’t tell anybody this but… Uh… I was dared to rob a bank and if I didn’t I would die and you would also. I’m really sorry Jane.”
“JASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ROBBED A BANK!!!!!?????? And don’t be sorry for me!”
“Yes but for you and me.”
“You know they will find out! The police will!” Jane said so angrily that she had veins popping out of her neck. It was really ugly at that time.
“I know lets just leave it alone as much as we can and get jobs at a hotel or something and learn Spanish. That’s why I got you this. Will you marry me Jane, Elisa, Lorence?”
Chapter Two
“I know its way too early, but I want to love you and care for you. Just please say yes. If you say yes, we can spend the rest of our lives together.” I said as I held out the most beautiful diamond ring ever.
“I’m so sorry Jason. I can’t. I can’t do it. I’m not going to run away and get married like my sister did. I just can’t.” I could tell Jane was terrified to say it. But then I broke down into tears.
“But we can get away from all the terrible things here. Like uh there’s a murderer on the loose and there’s-” Jane just totally interrupted me and said this,
“Yeah and there’s a robber on the loose also.” Jane said as she started to get her things to go.
“Wait! Just please Jane! Please! I was trying to save our lives. But if the guy just wanted to kill you I would for sure risk my life for you.” I said begging her not to go. She stayed back to say something.
“Okay fine. I do love you. And I do want to spend the rest of my life with you so, let’s just leave in a week. Okay?” She said kind of excited.
“Okay! That’s just perfect. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to.” I said hoping she’ll still say yes.
“Well, I said yes so, yes it is.”
Chapter Three
“Ahhhhhh! Jane come here!” I screamed.
“Why!” Jane asked kind of bratty. I pretty much guess she got no answer because I passed out from bleeding to death!
“Jason! Why!” All I could pretty much say was a mumble.
“I got stabbed in my leg.” I mumbled.
“Eeek!!!” Jane ran toward me. I fell asleep. I heard words and some numbers. Some were really bad words.
“1,2,3,4! Come alive!!!” I woke up.
“were you just swearing at me? Cause I heard some really bad words.”
“Um… No?” Jane said with her lying face on.
“ Nice Jane. But, thank you for saving my life.”
“No. Thank you for coming alive. Cause I love you and I know you love me.”
“well, duh I love you! That’s why I’m going to marry you.” I said very happily.
Chapter Four
We got on the plane and then-“Crap!!!!” Screamed Jane in a whisper voice.
“What?” I quietly asked.
“Shush! Be quiet! I see my parents on the plane next to us! But what if they figure out we’re going to Mexico?” Then Jane started to panic.
“It’s okay Jane their not going to figure out that we’re here. I even gave my parents a note. Here is a copy.” I said handing it out to her. This is what it said,
Dear Mom and Dad,
I’m really sorry about this but me and Jane left home. And I’ve been keeping a secret a very long time and I’m going to tell you. Dad you know how your bank got robbed? I know who did it. It was me. Please don’t tell! I was doing it to keep me, Jane, Mom, and you alive. Also Jane and I are getting married. I know you guy’s are sad but I had to leave. Bye and I love you guy’s a lot. And I always will.
Love
Jason Sungari.
I could just imagine my parent’s crying.
“Oh! And there also is this” I said.
P.S. Don’t come and find me. Please!
“No! Jason, you don’t understand do you? My parent’s are going to come and find me. MY PARENTS!!!
They’ll find out! Like with my sister!” Jane Yelled. (But in a whisper voice.)
“Well Yeah but you’re sister convinced then to let her live out there!” I said.
“ But they’ll find out you robbed a bank and got married to me.” Jane said angrily.
A flight attendant came up to us.
“Um do you guy’s have a parent with you?” She said weirdly.
“Yeah right over there! They let us have first class.” I said lying.
“Well I believe you so I’m not going to ask that couple right over there. Not.” She said very bratty.
“Wait!” I screamed
“What!” She screamed back at me.
“How old do you have to be to be on a plane alone?” I asked politely.
“Uh at least seventeen years old. Why?” The flight attendant said.
“Well because we don’t have any parents on the plane with us. But! I’m eighteen years old and Jane here is seventeen years old. So we can be here anyways.” I said so proudly.
“Oh bummer I hoped you would get kicked off the plane.” The flight attendant said.
“Okay I’m gonna tell the pilot that because you being really bratty.” I said.
“Wait! I’ll do anything if you don’t get me fired! Please!” She begged.
“Um… How bout NO!!! you were mean to me and really your job is to be nice to people on the plane so like I said. NO!!!”
Chapter Five
“O.M.G!!!! You got us the nicest hotel in Mexico!!!” Jane said.
“Well duh!!! And I also got us a sweet. And there’s a bar in the pool.” I said.
“Yeah but honey your only eighteen years old.” Jane said.
“I know but there aren’t only alcoholic drinks there. And why would I have one anyway? Come on! Let’s go see our sweet!” I said. Okay so guess what? Our hotel room is… NOT A SWEET! I can’t believe it!
“Honey?” Jane asked.
“Yeah?” I said.
“Can you ask the hotel manager about the sweet situation?” Jane asked politely.
“Okay. Fine.” I said in an angry voice.
In the hotel lobby
“um excuse me.” A girl asked at the hotel lobby.
“WHAT!!! I’m on the phone here! Would you like somebody screaming in your face while you were on the phone?” The lady at the front desk said.
“No but-”
“Yeah I kind of thought so.”
“But this is your job! You can’t be on the phone at your job!”
“Um but this is actuelly a customer on the phone and she’s asking a lot of questions here. But you guy’s can come back later.” But the lady at the front desk was pretty much saying this,
“Oh no he did not! No way! That’s so unusual!” I finally chose to speak up. So this is what I said.
“Um excuse me? I don’t really think that’s a customer on the phone and some of these customers in line have some really big problems. Including me.” I said in the back of the line. The lady hung up the phone.
“Well young man what’s your problem?” She asked bratty.
“I got a regular hotel room when I was supposesd to have a sweet.”
“and what’s your name?”
“Jason Sungari. I think it’s German.” I said. The lady looked at me with a bratty face.
“Do you think I didn’t know German freak.” She said back as she went back to looking at her computer.
“Okay that’s it! Where’s your manager?” I said really angry.
“Back there… WAIT!” She said as I was basically knocking at the door. It was way too late for her.
“Um are you the manager for the hotel I said politely.
“Yes I am.” Said the manager.
“Why did Eleanor do anything? And tell the truth!” He said kind of happy.
“Actually, yes. She called me a German freak and is also not paying attention to any customers.” I said waiting for him to say she’s fired.
“ARGH! Eleanor! I told you one more chance! Your fired!” He said meanly.
“What! But Dad!” She said. Then I got confused. That’s her Dad?
“No buts Eleanor! I said I told you one more chance and you blew it! Go home! See you at dinner.” He said angry. But then this is the part I don’t understand. The girl left while whispering in my ear. And she said this while also putting a not in my hand,
“Here’s my phone number. Call me later.” That’s what I don’t understand. That’s why I threw the note in the garbage.
“So how may I help you?” The manager asked.
“I got a regular room when I was supposed to get a sweet.” I said.
“Okay then can I have your name?” He asked.
“Okay! My name is Jason Sungari.” I answered back cheerfully.
“Oh yeah! You did have a sweet! Okay just let me get the keys and I’ll meet you at room 516. And don’t forget your luggage!”
“Okay!”
At the room…
“Click.” The key sounded like that when we unlocked the door…
Chapter Six
I looked inside. I went into the bathroom. There it was. It’s so horrible that I can’t say it. There were my parent’s. Dad had his most favorite gun in his right hand and hand cuff’s in the other. Mom was shaking her head with her hand’s crossed.
“Um… Jane?” I asked.
“Yeah honey?”
“Come here!”
“Why?”
“Just come here!”
“Okay, okay I’m coming… Wow.” Jane said as she walked in. I could tell she was surprised.
“Um Mom? Dad? Why are you here?” I asked. They didn’t answer though. They just cuffed me up and put me in the Police car.(B.T.W my dad’s also a police.)
“Guys! You didn’t answer the question! Why are you here?” I asked. But then after I said that mom started to cry.
“Well why didn’t you tell us!” She screamed in my face.
“Because! I was afraid! And if I didn’t rob a bank you guy’s, me, and Jane would be dead!” I cried.
“But you knew you would be in jail right?” Mom said.
“Yes that’s why I didn’t tell you! I didn’t want to go to jail!” WE got on the plane. Hen Dad said something I would never forget. This is what he said,
“I’m sorry. I’m also really happy about you and Jane but, Your going to have to let her go. You know I love you and I really don’t want to kill you. So please. Just please don’t make it any harder than it is.” Dad said. Well, I didn’t say anything back. I just pouted. But then my dad’s phone started ringing. His ring tone is so weird! It goes like this,
“I like big butts and I can not lie! You other brothers can’t deny! When a girl walks in with a itty bitty waste the round thing in your face you get sprung!” It’s so annoying! My dad picked up the phone.
“Officer Christopher speaking. JK! Christopher speaking. Jane? Is that you? You sound worried what happened? Yes he is here with us. Well he’s going to jail. I’m sorry. You can visit sometime. Why not? WHAT! Your parents don’t know! Oh I understand. You want to talk to Jason? Okay! See you later Jane! Bye.” Dad handed the phone to me. I just took it without saying anything.
“Hello Jane.” I said on the phone.
“Jason! I called to ask where you were! I’m so worried! And now I can’t see you any more! I hope you can visit some time!” I was crabby so this is what I said, “Yup Jane” Bye I love you and I’ll miss you!”
“Wait!” I just hung up. The plane landed so we got down the stairs. The second Dad went for my hand……..BAMMMM! I went zooming away as fast as I could. Then before you know it dad pulled out his gun. BAM BAM BAM! I got shot three times, in my back. I remember before I died dad ran up to me.
“I told you not to make it any harder I’m really sorry for shooting you.” Dad said.
My last words were this; I love you.

It was a bright sunny December day the snow was soft in the back round
The sound of cheering. But Will Hawk age 16 could care less. All he was focused on was his last run in the 2020 X games
.
A cyclone might have been going on. He had a hard time concentrating. He was behind.
“Come on top me” said Jon Albert also age 16. Jon was in 1st place.
Just then a booming voice rang out.
“Will hawk the U.S home town boy”
The crowd went wild.
I went down the half pipe.
First a 720. Next straight air 30 ft.
“
Wow I’m doing great.”
Now Front flip.
The world slowed down.
I shot off the last curve wasting no time I started back flips 1,2,3,4, back flips while spinning.
The crowd stood up. Fans were probably thinking
“Make it” or
“wow!”
Me the only thing going through my mind
“AHHHHHHHH”
I closed my eyes. It happened all so fast.
POW
“Wahoo”
I landed I just won the X games.
I saw bright sun. That was the last thing I saw for a minute before Jon tackled me
“Yeah man you did it.”
Chapter two
Still in school
Back in his CA mountain high school.
I was a star. My name was every where and being talked about in every classroom.
I was the big cheese. I wish it was always like this.
I even got to make a speech,
Before I even got to start I said
“Could I have Jon Albert come up to the front of the stage.”
The crowed fell silent.
Jon came up.
Then he said
“Cricket cricket”
The whole place exploded in a sonic boom.
Jon was red in the face
When it died down we started.
“Well it’s great and all to win but what about tomorrow you won’t car you will want the same old things you all ways do at school want new school stuff.”
“Well” said Jon a wide grin spreading across his face.
“With our win since we are normal kids too we will by the top two things you want”
“So go vote no” we said together
Back at home it was dark.
I went up to my room and polished my board.
Just then the doorbell rang.
At the door there was a reporter.
She was all smiles and asked me a bunch of questions and brought me in to the car.
We arrived at the local news station and the interview me. I didn’t care until she said “how do you fell about racing you friend Jon” what didn’t know that.
When they brought me home I went up to my room the floor was littered with broken glass my board gone. Looked out the window oar struck. Just then I saw a dark shape running on the street with a snow board my snow board.
I raced after him first he 20 ft away, 15 ft away, 10 ft away, 5 feet IMPACT. I shot a hand out a grabbed his shirt then pulled back and pulled back “who are you” “sarair howly he said I come for lucky board I will kill you in Olympics” “thanks that’s all I wanted to know”
4 years of training
It was the last run of the men’s half pipe and sure enough sarair and his partner were wining. Me and Jon were last and losing.
We started down the hill first a straight air 30 ft next a front flip thirdly a cork turn.
Lastly we were all in 1 2 3 4 back flips while spinning. “Ahhhhh”. POW “we did it we won gold yeah” just like 4 years a go sarair came up to me and punched me he was ticked off. Just like 4 four years a go I kicked him and kicked him over in the half pipe.
