Dog Day
By: Alex
School:
“Who wants to share what they did over spring break?” My teacher asked. Everyone’s hand shot up. “How about you, Macy Jones?” I LOVED my name and the way she said it.
“Okay, over spring break I asked my parents if I could have a dog and they said yes!” I said. RING! Finally, The weekend! We all jumped up from our seats.
“Wait!” said Mrs. Kaper “Remember, Monday is conferences!”
When I got on the bus I was wiggling in my seat. This weekend I will get the perfect dog. I wrote a list of things I need on the bus. (I used my favorite pink pen!)
Things I Need
#1 Bed
#2 Blanket
#3 Dog Food
#4 Toys
#5 Collar
#6 Treats
#7 Brush
Saturday:
I rushed down the stairs.
“It’s Saturday!” said mom.
“And you know what that means!” Said dad
“Dog day!” I shouted.
“What’s all the racket?!” asked missy. Missy is my big sis. She gets to pick the dog out, but I get to name it. “One things for sure,” missy said “We are getting a girl dog.”
Finally, we arrived at the dog shelter. One of the puppies ran right over to us! She started squealing, and after a good while looking around missy picked “The squealer” she called it. I named her Charlie. Even missy liked it.
We dropped off missy, dad and Charlie at home. I checked off one by one on my list. We even got a tooth-brush! Then we hopped in the car to go home. When we got home I taught Charlie a few tricks. Sit lay down and stay. But she isn’t really good at them yet.
Monday:
When I was getting ready for school I slipped a picture of Charlie in my pocket. I wanted every one to know how cute she is. I got on my bus number 15, my favorite number. I quickly showed Lilah. Lilah is my B.F.F. I can always count on her. “Where did you get your dog?” she asked
“The shelter.” I replied
“Oh! She’s so CUTE!” She said
Mia started laving when she saw. Oh great Mia. “I’m getting a pure bread” she said “and I will make sure you see it first.” She told the whole class she is getting it on Tuesday. Then Mrs.Kaper gave out times I got 4:35-5:00, not bad but pore Lilah got 9:05-9:30.
Pure bread, pure bread, pure bread. Who cares! There less loving and I’m saving a life!! That’s what I thought all day and night. Missy baby-sat me wail mom and dad were at my conferences. I finished my home work, and I ate a chocolate bar when she was napping. Shhhhhhhh!!
Tuesday:
It was finally Tuesday! I sat down at my desk, but then I remembered why I was so exited! I marched over to Mia’s desk and she showed me the picture. “I loved her so much I had to have her!!!”
“What’s her name?” I asked
“Katy.”
“Want to have puppy play dates?”
“Shore.” – And that’s how me and Mia became friends.
