The Star of the Game by Courtney
The Star of the Game
By Courtney
Shoot, dribble, pass, fake, run, sprint. Be the superstar, win. Show them who you really are. I was made to be on this league, be that girl. Run swiftly across the court; shoot that ball right in the basket with a swish. Pump those legs up and down, fight for that ball. Let nothing stop you from playing the game you love. The only words bouncing in my head.
I was now off the bus and in my fifth grade homeroom at school. During school I could not concentrate, all I could think about was basketball tryouts. In social studies, Mrs. Lenson called “Emily come up to the board please,” I was dreaming; Mrs. Lenson had to call my name three times to get me up to the board; it was embarrassing. In Mr. Clayton’s class, science, I could not quite figure out the experiment so I gazed out the window. Two periods later it was lunch time, finally friends and voices. When I dashed in the lunch room I found my friend Paige, she had already started eating and had a place saved for me, I quickly got my tray and went through the line for food, then came and sat next to Paige. I said “The morning has been so boring; I can never seem to listen the whole time.”
“Me either,” said Paige. We laughed and giggled with each other for the rest of lunch.
After school was over Paige’s mom came to pick us up to get to tryouts on time. When Paige and I hopped into the car, Paige’s mom said, “How was school for you girls today? Paige and I shrugged.
“Okay I guess” replied Paige.
“Well, I hope you girls are warmed up for your tryouts today.” said Paige’s Mom. Finally, we climbed out of the car and went inside the sweaty gym. When Paige and I got inside, there was a woman behind a table that asked us for our names and school, she gave us pennies to wear also. We dropped our bags and started to shoot and pass by the other girls that we trying out too. Finally, when every girl showed up, we had to line up shortest to tallest. Paige was very tall, so she headed to the taller side. I was regular height, so I started to the middle of the long line of girls. I saw some familiar faces; some of the girls were from my school, Brookview elementary school. Next, I got my place in line and stood there, I was slightly on the taller side, so I wasn’t on the shorter side of the gym. Now, the lead coach of the high school girls split us into two parts. I sighed with relief, I was with Paige. The coach said, “Girls, you will be in different stations and will be tested on how well you shoot, dribble, pass and many other skills. How well you do will determine what team you will be on, A team, B team, or C team.” All of the girls moved to the stations they were assigned to. I started at a dribbling station. The guy at the station said “dribble through those cones ahead.” So I dribbled down head up, looking at the cones ahead. After about ten minutes all the girls had gone through the cones twice we switched stations. Now I was at a passing station. I was across from a girl who I did not want to say, but was a not very good player. Every pass I made was perfect, but she could not catch anyone that came to her. When the girl passed to me it was sloppy but I new I had to catch everyone. Finally, I was over with the passing station and onto the last station, shooting. First, I had to shoot layups, then free throws, and other shots around the court. I made every shot but two, I messed up on one layup and a shot on the right side of the court. Luckily now, tryouts were over, so Paige and I grabbed our bags and waited outside for my mom to pick us up.
When my mom and I got home from dropping Paige off, food was ready for dinner. My dad is a great cook. He only could cook on the weekends because he usually gets home from work late. Although Mrs. Bengal is still a great cook. Right when I plopped through the door with my heavy big bag, I smelled it, one of the best smells in the world. From that moment I knew what my family was going to have for dinner that night, I smelled delicious white rice, sweet and sour chicken, with wonderful fortune cookies for desert. Daddy wasn’t home yet from work but my older brothers were home. One was on the computer doing homework and the other writing an essay for class. The oldest brother (writing the essay) is Matt, and the one on the computer is Torren. Both of them are pretty nice. When dad is home, around five to five thirty we eat dinner. I started with my backpack into the homework room, where my brothers were doing their homework. A few minutes later my mom called “Time for dinner, come in the kitchen kids.” As soon as the entire family got served op my dad prayed for the meal and everyone started chomping, my mom said, “Well Emily how was tryouts today?” “It was long, when I was in a passing station; I was across from a girl that could not catch a chest pass or a bounce pass. She could not pass the ball very good either. I feel bad for her,” I replied. “Always one of those kind of players,” dad said.
Matt said “I remember tryouts when I was your age, nobody was very good, but my friend Joe, couple of other guys I didn’t know, and me.” “Of course you” I said laughing. Torren didn’t talk much, he was a quieter kid. I had no idea why he was so quiet though. “Hi and lows everyone, Torren you first,” said Mrs. Bengel. Torren said “Hi, in science class we did explosion experiment, lo, L.A. because our class was doing a reading quiz that was really boring.” That was about how much he says at night. After mom, dad, and Matt had said their hi’s and lo’s it was my turn. I said, “Hi, kickball at recess and my lo passing at tryouts.” That night before bed I was shaking, I was so nervous that I would not get on a good team, also that I would not be with Paige.
“Honey wake up, time to get ready for school,” called Mom. “Huh” I yawned. “Time to get ready for school,” mom said sounding a little stricter this time. I yawned, “Okay I’ll get up.” “Good, get downstairs in ten minutes, then breakfast will be on the table,” said Mrs. Bengel. When mom left the room I hurried to my closet. Finally, I found the perfect outfit and put in on, blue shorts with pink stripes down the sides and a pink shirt with light pink flowers. I made my bed, picked up my room and went into my bathroom. I brushed my teeth, combed my hair and put a pink flower in it. When I got downstairs pancakes were on the table with sausage and bacon. I ate all of the good food in no time. “This is delicious” I said. “Thank you” mom said. Torren and Matt were already off to school by the time I got downstairs. After I made my lunch, and packed my bag I started toward my bus stop. There were already three other jumping kids at the bus stop. There are six kids total counting me. After two minutes I saw two other kids with worried faces on the sidewalk running to our bus stop because, the bus turning a corner coming toward us. Finally I was on the bus sitting next to Paige talking about basketball. When we got to school I said, “Bye Paige, see you at lunch.” “You to,” Paige called back. After lunch the girls went to recess and played one on one basketball together. The rest of the day was tiring, I had math class. Math is the hardest for me, and I always make silly mistakes. I was glad to hop on the bus and sit back down next to my best friend Paige after school.
“Emily!” Mom yelled in an excited voice when I got home from school, “You made the A-TEAM!” I screamed back, “TEAM MICHIGAN?!” Mom smiled, “Yes! Time to celebrate with chocolate chip cookies and milk!” “Good job little sis,” said Matt. “Yea nice job,” Torren agreed. I got a big brother hug from each of my brothers.
“Ahhhhh!” I screamed together with Paige. We were talking on the phone, “I got on the A-Team, Michigan,” we both said at the exact same time so we didn’t understand each other. “You first” said Paige. “Okay,” I began, “I made the A-Team, Michigan!” “No way me too!” Paige exclaimed. “I am so happy we are on the same team together!” I said. Paige said, “It will be so much fun being on the same team this year! But sorry I got to run, I have this party my mom planned at a park and I have to help set up, and other stuff.” “Okay see ya!” I said. “See ya” Paige echoed.
One week later Paige and I had our first practice. When I got there the coach said, “What is your name? My name is Mr. Smith. I am going to be your coach this season.” “I am Emily Bengel, nice to meet you Coach Smith.” I said. “Glad to have you on our team,” The coach replied. When everyone got to the practice, we met each other. I recognized a few girls, others were from different schools. We did dribbling, passing and layups. I knew all of the drills, so this was easy. Every shot I made went in except for a four. Sweat was rolling down my face when it was water break. I loved basketball. I was so happy to be playing, especially on Team Michigan.
“How was your first practice today?” asked mom in the car from picking me up. “It was awesome to see all of the girls on my team and to simply play basketball,” I replied. “Well, you’re sweaty, so take a shower and go to bed,” said mom. When I finished taking a shower I brushed my teeth, put on my pajamas and went to bed.
The next morning I had an alarm that woke me up at seven, with a beep, beep, beep, beeeeep, before I pressed the button, and then I got out of bed. Today I dressed in blue basketball shorts with a white stripe down the side and a shirt that said ‘EBA’ it stands for Edina Basketball Association. I brushed my teeth and cleaned my room until it was spotless. I poured myself a glass of milk and put some cereal in a bowl. I packed for school and I was able to read a little bit before I had to walk to the bus stop. My mom had been on the computer doing business work this morning because things were a little busy. Finally when it was time to go to the bus stop I looked out the window and saw five other kids already there. I dashed over to them hoping I wasn’t late, but I could already see that the bus coming toward the stop so I started to sprint and I got there just after the last person was stepping on to the bus stairs. I was very happy to see Paige that morning so I said, “Hello Paige, how are you going today?” “I feel great, thank you! You seem very cheerful this morning” said Paige. “Well I do feel very cheerful today” I said. It felt great to have a good friend like Paige. When we got to school I ran toward my homeroom because I knew that the bell would ring any second. Later in the day I was in social studies, Mrs. Lenson was the teacher. Social studies is not my best strength, so I have to give my full attention during class. I felt that I did well in social studies today, I understood the concept well. In science it was all about experiments on water. This week was about evaporation. I did a nice job on that. After gym and music it was lunch, and that meant talking. This time Paige was not at a table waiting for, me, she was with a bunch of other girls I didn’t know and there was no more seats left at that table. So I went to sit with some other girls that I knew. During recess I was on the swing all alone, I felt so lonely, I saw Paige and the other girls all laughing. At the end of the day I went to the carpool lane because my mom was going to pick me up from school that day.
That night I had another practice. I was excited but not, at the same time because I would not be buds with Paige anymore. I wondered why Paige would suddenly stop being friends with me, it does not sound like her at all, and she would tell me if something was wrong. I wondered about that all in the car to basketball practice. Finally, when I go to practice, I saw Paige. I tried not to look at her, but I sometimes just had to. I went to the coach and told him I was here and I started shooting. I could not make a single shot. So then I just passed the ball to the wall and dribbled it around. When we started you had to pick a partner to pass with and I chose Jamie, another girl from my school. My passing was lousy. Something had to be wrong. The coach called for a one-on-one game. I could not make any shots at all. I was glad when my dad came to pick me up. I gulped down my water bottle and my feelings.
That night it felt great to get a cool, soothing shower. I was so sweaty. I brushed my teeth, combed my hair, put on my pajamas, put my clothes down the laundry shute and went to bed. After my parents came in to say good night, I thought hard about Paige and the odd friend situation. A few tears dripped down my cheek.
That morning I woke up at nine and it was Saturday, so no rush to get up and go to school. The only thing on my mind was the basketball game at one o-clock. It would be my first game and I didn’t want to miss it. At twelve-thirty, I started to pack up and head to the game. Matt was driving me today, and he wanted to see how good I really am at basketball. I was going to show him. When I got there I saw Paige, I had to talk to her, we have to get this problem sorted out. Besides there were fifteen more minutes left before the game starts. I hurried over to Paige, I said, “Paige we need to talk,”
“Okay,” said Paige. We went out to the hallway. “About yesterday” I began, “Why did you go with the other girls at lunch and recess?”
“What happened was that Angie pulled me over to sit with her and the other girls; I tried to say that I was going to sit with you, but they would not listen. I did not want to be rude so I sat with them, I planned to play with you at recess but they wouldn’t listen to me that time either,” replied Paige.
“Oh I’m sorry I thought you were trying to be mean to me,” I said.
“Friends?” asked Paige.
“Friends,” I replied.
“Girls” said Coach Smith, “Time to get playing,” That night the Paige and I passed and played picks for each other, made baskets and won the game for the team. Matt said, “Sis, never new you were that good.”
“I showed you” I told him back. The whole team went out for ice cream at Dairy Queen. When I got home I took a quick shower and hoped into bed.
On Monday morning I woke up and smelled egg bake coming out of the oven so I jumped out of bed and quickly got ready for school and raced to the kitchen to find that egg bake sitting on the counter waiting for me. Cut a big piece and ate it in a heart beat. I love egg bake, what is better than it. I had to take another piece it was just too good. When I packed my bag I climbed on the bus and Paige and I talked on and on about how sorry we were about the misunderstanding. School that day was fine; the first period was social studies today. In science the experiment was fun, and in gym we played nine base, which was exciting.
When the girls met up again at the next game that night. We won again to this team, Paige and I did the same great passing, picks, and shooting, the other girls on the team helped too. So far the team was undefeated; it was a very good feeling. “I bet you got your basketball skills from me, Emily” said Matt.
“In your dreams Matt” I said back. After that game I could only think about how Paige had gotten pulled away from me, she did, want to sit with me, but she couldn’t. I never thought it had happened that way.
One month later it was the championship game, our team still undefeated. I was so happy that my team had made it to the championship game. The other teams were easy, but this team was another A team. Before we started the game my team all yelled “Team Michigan!” Then the tallest girl Jamie was in the middle ready for the tip. The ball shoots up in the air and Jamie hits it to me I caught it and started dribbling down the court. I passed the ball to Paige she caught it and shot it at the basket and made it in. The crowd cheered loudly. Now the other team has the ball, I was guarding the girl with the ball. When she passed the ball I tried to stop it but I was to slow to get there on time. Lizzie was guarding the girl with the ball now; the girl shot the ball to the basket and made it in. By half time the score was close, 18-17 my team in the lead. During the last half Paige and I were working very hard and were helping each other make baskets. At five seconds on the clock I had just gotten the rebound and I was sprinting down the court, three seconds, two seconds, the ball soared into the air, the ball bounced into the basket beeeeep! The crowd screamed, I won the game for my team. After the game I got lots of pats on the back and nice jobs from everyone. I ran up to Paige and hugged her; she had set a pick for me to make the basket! My team went out for ice cream at Dairy Queen; I ordered a large vanilla cone. I still couldn’t believe I won!

“Hi I’m Frank, my life is not like your everyday life. You see my parents are divorced

Step in life called… The finding of happiness ”
It was a steaming Saturday afternoon, but the sun was shinning and kids were having fun and all. Just not me, It’s been like that since Alex best friend died in a car accident.
Slap! “What I tell you about sneaking to your moms house without permission from me? You know the rule right! No going over there again you hear?!” My dad said and slapped me in anger.
“I’m sorry dad buts it’s a really hot day!” I replied,
“well sorry doesn’t fix this crap.” He snapped back,
“I hate you!” I said as I ran out he door grabbing his car keys and charging out the door.
“You better come back here now! Don’t make me count to three! 1, 2, 3! Now you’re going to get it!” My dad said on his way to breaking open the windows. I struggled to get the car key in the ignition, I got it, VROOOM! I was off! I twisted and turned (I think I hit a cat). I arrived, a slammed my fist against her front door, SLAM! She opened the door and as soon as she did, she looked at my cheek, and then she asked, “Who did this to you honey?”
“Dad.” I replied starting to feel light headed, then starting to cry, “Oh Frank you are going to live with me ok?” She asked with a slight grin on her face. “I thought you’d never ask.” I said as started to giggle, and then gave her a big hug. (7 years later…) I had a flash back of how my life was before people thought of me as a clown, “What a nerd, he has no chance of getting friends until he’s 90 years old.” I heard voices say in the 7th grade hallway. “Life stinks!” I sighed, and then I thought, why can’t I be like Michael Fernandez? He’s nerdy and still has 1 billion friends. “Hello children at Hillside elementary, we have a new student coming, Kyle Ceedings. Please be as nice as you can to our new student, Thank you.” A voice said on the intercom. Then I thought, hey I can try to be nice to Kyle and maybe we can become friends like me and Alex! (Tomorrow) Gulp. I slowly looked around at the students starring at me, I walked up to Kyle who was on the swing-set alone, by himself, no one looking at me and say, “What a dork!” or, “your lame Frank!” I took a deep breath, looked at Kyle in the eye, and said, “Hey Kyle wanna go to Smoothie Central? Ahhhhhh after school?” I was scary, what was he going to say? But then One little Word came out of his mouth, “Ya, That would be awesome.” Was he kidding? Oh my goodness! Yes! Y-E-S! Yippee! I can’t believe it! Finally, Friendship! Once again! (Tomorrow!) A lady in a pink coat came up to Kyle and I and said, “What kind of smoothie would you like? Today’s special is the mint strawberry smoothie.” Then Kyle and I interrupted,
“Ya two Mint Strawberry smoothies,”
“Ok then to Mint Strawberry smoothies,” The waiter said under her breath, “coming right up.” She said aloud. Then Kyle asked me, “So Who is your best friend?”
“Well. Ya! Ummmmm, I don’t really have any friends anymore, you see my Best friend Alex died two weeks ago and life has, what you would call it, Sucked!” I replied,
“Well it’s not your fault that people don’t like you.” Kyle replied,
“Ya I guess so. Ya your right!” I replied,
“Lets go to the barber shop, My treat.”
“But why?” I asked,
“Ummm, Look in the mirror. And come here tomorrow and see if we can score some chicks.” Kyle replied
(Tomorrow)
“I’m not sure about this. I mean what if they think I’m ugly?” I said concerned,
“You’ll be fine. So. See any cut girls?” Kyle asked,
“jeez this is my first time, unlike you. Mr. Mr. Ummm, Mr. Coolieo!” I said,
“Witch one is she?” Kyle asked,
“Table 17 Brown shirt, pink shirt, Brown hair.” I replied, Then Kyle shoved me at her table,
“What’s goin on?” I said like a nervous little girl saying hi to her grandpa,
“Nothing… Are you asking me to go on a date with you?” She asked me,
“how’d you know?” I asked,
“Well you said it like a nervous little girl saying hi to her grandpa. I’m Emma by the way. And yes I would like to go see Flippie on Friday at 6:50, My parents will drive us to AMC theaters.”
She said. Then I thought to myself wow that went faster then I thought It would.
“Ok. See you on Friday” I said out loud to her.
(Friday)
Ding-Dong! I heard the door-bell ring,
“Coming!” I said to whoever was at the door,
“Hey… I actually never got your name.” Emma said as I opened the door,
“Kyle. So you ready to go?” I asked,
“Ya.” Emma said as we ran out the door. I was psyched!
“Hey so you exc… I paused I looked through the front window, a car was coming straight at us. BOOM! BANG! DID I MAKE IT ALIVE? WHERE AM I?!

Morkie by Kathryn
Chapter 1
Charlie saw the glaring lights, she heard the barking and whining of the puppies, the squawking of birds, and the squeaking of mice. She saw the faces of the dogs light up as she entered the room. The whole place seemed magical. As she walked around she took it all in and then right in front of her… the perfect puppy.
Chapter 2
“I have been waiting only 2 minutes for their employee to bring me the puppy to hold, but it seems like forever.’’ ’’Two minutes later she comes holding that puppy like a baby.’’ She tells me to “be carful” I tell her ok. she picked her up and she sat in her lap as mellow and calm as possible. She pet her soft hair and scratched her small ears and she sat there like a stuffed animal and right then and there I knew she was perfect.
Charlie asked her parents with her best puppy dog eyes to please get her. Charlie’s mom said no. She said it was to much money and that they didn’t have space for her. Her heart was crushed. As she walked through the pet shop doors she just got even sadder. In the car she leaned on her mom and cried.
Chapter 3
As Charlie and her mom drove to Target on the bumpy road she looked out of the window and day dreamed about her dog, and when they got there Charlie bought a notebook with puppies on the front and back. She did this because she had a plan. Her plan was to use that notebook to write any facts she finds on the computer or books, and that might get her parents convinced that she could take care of a dog herself. So she started working.
Chapter 4
May 26, 2010
‘’Charlie’’ called her mom ‘’lunch is ready.’’ ‘’I’m not done with research, and it’s really interesting.’’ Charlie wrote in her diary… “I have been working almost all day today. It has to work I have been figuring out stuff like what type of bowl to get, and that’s the kind that is heavy so the dog doesn’t tip it over and it can’t have led in the metal or paint so the dog doesn’t get sick, and a bunch of other stuff, I have to go eat lunch now but I’ll see you in a little bit.”
Chapter 5 May 27, 2010
’’Guess what!’’ ’’Yesterday the neighbors got a dog!’’ I sprinted over to meet the new dog it was small and fuzzy. I couldn’t believe they got one and I have working and waiting longer. I asked what type it was and they said it was a Morkie. She played on their trampoline but only for a little because she wanted to get home and do some research on Morkies to see if they were a good math for her. They were! They don’t shed, they are lap dogs, and much more. She has a whole page in her notebook for information on morkies and she was hoping to find more much.
Chapter 6
The bell just rang and she could finally leave school. She walked home with some of her friends and as she talked she heard the wind whistling through the tree tops, and the rustling of bushes as animals ran into them. She talked and listened until they had to go separate ways. When I got home I went to the kitchen to get a snack. When I sat down to eat my animal crackers I heard a noise it sounded like whining. I thought it was the wind. I started eating. Then I heard it again. I slowly walked up to my room to see what it was and there was a puppy sitting on my bed. Then my parents came to the door. They said ’’we know you have been waiting a long time and worked very hard and we made up our minds that it was time.’’ she ran over to them and gave them a huge hug. ’’thank you so much ’’ she said. After they finished talking, she picked up the puppy. She was so warm and fuzzy. She looked up at me. She said ’’I am going to name you Muzzy because you are so fuzzy!’’ She licked her face and she laughed she knew she was perfect.

Robbing a Bank by Lauren
Robbing a Bank
By, Lauren
Chapter One
I ran and started to panic. I thought to myself should I really be robbing my fathers bank? Wait, yes I should to keep my family safe. Well, I really wanted to say no but I really couldn’t. So I grabbed the money and left as quickly and as quietly as I could. The next day at school I went right up to my girlfriend Jane and said, “Uh… We really need to talk after school today.”
“What happened honey? You look a little nervous.” Jane said.
“A little nervous? How about a lot!” I said.
“What happened Jason? You’re making me scared.” Jane said very seriously.
“No. Meet me at Snuffy’s after school. Okay? Then I’ll tell you.”
“Okay! But, don’t you dare make me eat any meat.”
“Why?”
“Because I am now a vegetarian!” Jane said so proudly of herself.
“Really! I am so proud of you!” Saying like I cared a lot more than I do.
“Okay see you after school.”
“Okay!” I said happily.
After school
“Okay Jason. Tell me what happened. I was thinking about it all day at school and I’m kind of exited.” Jane said.
“Don’t tell anybody this but… Uh… I was dared to rob a bank and if I didn’t I would die and you would also. I’m really sorry Jane.”
“JASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ROBBED A BANK!!!!!?????? And don’t be sorry for me!”
“Yes but for you and me.”
“You know they will find out! The police will!” Jane said so angrily that she had veins popping out of her neck. It was really ugly at that time.
“I know lets just leave it alone as much as we can and get jobs at a hotel or something and learn Spanish. That’s why I got you this. Will you marry me Jane, Elisa, Lorence?”
Chapter Two
“I know its way too early, but I want to love you and care for you. Just please say yes. If you say yes, we can spend the rest of our lives together.” I said as I held out the most beautiful diamond ring ever.
“I’m so sorry Jason. I can’t. I can’t do it. I’m not going to run away and get married like my sister did. I just can’t.” I could tell Jane was terrified to say it. But then I broke down into tears.
“But we can get away from all the terrible things here. Like uh there’s a murderer on the loose and there’s-” Jane just totally interrupted me and said this,
“Yeah and there’s a robber on the loose also.” Jane said as she started to get her things to go.
“Wait! Just please Jane! Please! I was trying to save our lives. But if the guy just wanted to kill you I would for sure risk my life for you.” I said begging her not to go. She stayed back to say something.
“Okay fine. I do love you. And I do want to spend the rest of my life with you so, let’s just leave in a week. Okay?” She said kind of excited.
“Okay! That’s just perfect. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to.” I said hoping she’ll still say yes.
“Well, I said yes so, yes it is.”
Chapter Three
“Ahhhhhh! Jane come here!” I screamed.
“Why!” Jane asked kind of bratty. I pretty much guess she got no answer because I passed out from bleeding to death!
“Jason! Why!” All I could pretty much say was a mumble.
“I got stabbed in my leg.” I mumbled.
“Eeek!!!” Jane ran toward me. I fell asleep. I heard words and some numbers. Some were really bad words.
“1,2,3,4! Come alive!!!” I woke up.
“were you just swearing at me? Cause I heard some really bad words.”
“Um… No?” Jane said with her lying face on.
“ Nice Jane. But, thank you for saving my life.”
“No. Thank you for coming alive. Cause I love you and I know you love me.”
“well, duh I love you! That’s why I’m going to marry you.” I said very happily.
Chapter Four
We got on the plane and then-“Crap!!!!” Screamed Jane in a whisper voice.
“What?” I quietly asked.
“Shush! Be quiet! I see my parents on the plane next to us! But what if they figure out we’re going to Mexico?” Then Jane started to panic.
“It’s okay Jane their not going to figure out that we’re here. I even gave my parents a note. Here is a copy.” I said handing it out to her. This is what it said,
Dear Mom and Dad,
I’m really sorry about this but me and Jane left home. And I’ve been keeping a secret a very long time and I’m going to tell you. Dad you know how your bank got robbed? I know who did it. It was me. Please don’t tell! I was doing it to keep me, Jane, Mom, and you alive. Also Jane and I are getting married. I know you guy’s are sad but I had to leave. Bye and I love you guy’s a lot. And I always will.
Love
Jason Sungari.
I could just imagine my parent’s crying.
“Oh! And there also is this” I said.
P.S. Don’t come and find me. Please!
“No! Jason, you don’t understand do you? My parent’s are going to come and find me. MY PARENTS!!!
They’ll find out! Like with my sister!” Jane Yelled. (But in a whisper voice.)
“Well Yeah but you’re sister convinced then to let her live out there!” I said.
“ But they’ll find out you robbed a bank and got married to me.” Jane said angrily.
A flight attendant came up to us.
“Um do you guy’s have a parent with you?” She said weirdly.
“Yeah right over there! They let us have first class.” I said lying.
“Well I believe you so I’m not going to ask that couple right over there. Not.” She said very bratty.
“Wait!” I screamed
“What!” She screamed back at me.
“How old do you have to be to be on a plane alone?” I asked politely.
“Uh at least seventeen years old. Why?” The flight attendant said.
“Well because we don’t have any parents on the plane with us. But! I’m eighteen years old and Jane here is seventeen years old. So we can be here anyways.” I said so proudly.
“Oh bummer I hoped you would get kicked off the plane.” The flight attendant said.
“Okay I’m gonna tell the pilot that because you being really bratty.” I said.
“Wait! I’ll do anything if you don’t get me fired! Please!” She begged.
“Um… How bout NO!!! you were mean to me and really your job is to be nice to people on the plane so like I said. NO!!!”
Chapter Five
“O.M.G!!!! You got us the nicest hotel in Mexico!!!” Jane said.
“Well duh!!! And I also got us a sweet. And there’s a bar in the pool.” I said.
“Yeah but honey your only eighteen years old.” Jane said.
“I know but there aren’t only alcoholic drinks there. And why would I have one anyway? Come on! Let’s go see our sweet!” I said. Okay so guess what? Our hotel room is… NOT A SWEET! I can’t believe it!
“Honey?” Jane asked.
“Yeah?” I said.
“Can you ask the hotel manager about the sweet situation?” Jane asked politely.
“Okay. Fine.” I said in an angry voice.
In the hotel lobby
“um excuse me.” A girl asked at the hotel lobby.
“WHAT!!! I’m on the phone here! Would you like somebody screaming in your face while you were on the phone?” The lady at the front desk said.
“No but-”
“Yeah I kind of thought so.”
“But this is your job! You can’t be on the phone at your job!”
“Um but this is actuelly a customer on the phone and she’s asking a lot of questions here. But you guy’s can come back later.” But the lady at the front desk was pretty much saying this,
“Oh no he did not! No way! That’s so unusual!” I finally chose to speak up. So this is what I said.
“Um excuse me? I don’t really think that’s a customer on the phone and some of these customers in line have some really big problems. Including me.” I said in the back of the line. The lady hung up the phone.
“Well young man what’s your problem?” She asked bratty.
“I got a regular hotel room when I was supposesd to have a sweet.”
“and what’s your name?”
“Jason Sungari. I think it’s German.” I said. The lady looked at me with a bratty face.
“Do you think I didn’t know German freak.” She said back as she went back to looking at her computer.
“Okay that’s it! Where’s your manager?” I said really angry.
“Back there… WAIT!” She said as I was basically knocking at the door. It was way too late for her.
“Um are you the manager for the hotel I said politely.
“Yes I am.” Said the manager.
“Why did Eleanor do anything? And tell the truth!” He said kind of happy.
“Actually, yes. She called me a German freak and is also not paying attention to any customers.” I said waiting for him to say she’s fired.
“ARGH! Eleanor! I told you one more chance! Your fired!” He said meanly.
“What! But Dad!” She said. Then I got confused. That’s her Dad?
“No buts Eleanor! I said I told you one more chance and you blew it! Go home! See you at dinner.” He said angry. But then this is the part I don’t understand. The girl left while whispering in my ear. And she said this while also putting a not in my hand,
“Here’s my phone number. Call me later.” That’s what I don’t understand. That’s why I threw the note in the garbage.
“So how may I help you?” The manager asked.
“I got a regular room when I was supposed to get a sweet.” I said.
“Okay then can I have your name?” He asked.
“Okay! My name is Jason Sungari.” I answered back cheerfully.
“Oh yeah! You did have a sweet! Okay just let me get the keys and I’ll meet you at room 516. And don’t forget your luggage!”
“Okay!”
At the room…
“Click.” The key sounded like that when we unlocked the door…
Chapter Six
I looked inside. I went into the bathroom. There it was. It’s so horrible that I can’t say it. There were my parent’s. Dad had his most favorite gun in his right hand and hand cuff’s in the other. Mom was shaking her head with her hand’s crossed.
“Um… Jane?” I asked.
“Yeah honey?”
“Come here!”
“Why?”
“Just come here!”
“Okay, okay I’m coming… Wow.” Jane said as she walked in. I could tell she was surprised.
“Um Mom? Dad? Why are you here?” I asked. They didn’t answer though. They just cuffed me up and put me in the Police car.(B.T.W my dad’s also a police.)
“Guys! You didn’t answer the question! Why are you here?” I asked. But then after I said that mom started to cry.
“Well why didn’t you tell us!” She screamed in my face.
“Because! I was afraid! And if I didn’t rob a bank you guy’s, me, and Jane would be dead!” I cried.
“But you knew you would be in jail right?” Mom said.
“Yes that’s why I didn’t tell you! I didn’t want to go to jail!” WE got on the plane. Hen Dad said something I would never forget. This is what he said,
“I’m sorry. I’m also really happy about you and Jane but, Your going to have to let her go. You know I love you and I really don’t want to kill you. So please. Just please don’t make it any harder than it is.” Dad said. Well, I didn’t say anything back. I just pouted. But then my dad’s phone started ringing. His ring tone is so weird! It goes like this,
“I like big butts and I can not lie! You other brothers can’t deny! When a girl walks in with a itty bitty waste the round thing in your face you get sprung!” It’s so annoying! My dad picked up the phone.
“Officer Christopher speaking. JK! Christopher speaking. Jane? Is that you? You sound worried what happened? Yes he is here with us. Well he’s going to jail. I’m sorry. You can visit sometime. Why not? WHAT! Your parents don’t know! Oh I understand. You want to talk to Jason? Okay! See you later Jane! Bye.” Dad handed the phone to me. I just took it without saying anything.
“Hello Jane.” I said on the phone.
“Jason! I called to ask where you were! I’m so worried! And now I can’t see you any more! I hope you can visit some time!” I was crabby so this is what I said, “Yup Jane” Bye I love you and I’ll miss you!”
“Wait!” I just hung up. The plane landed so we got down the stairs. The second Dad went for my hand……..BAMMMM! I went zooming away as fast as I could. Then before you know it dad pulled out his gun. BAM BAM BAM! I got shot three times, in my back. I remember before I died dad ran up to me.
“I told you not to make it any harder I’m really sorry for shooting you.” Dad said.
My last words were this; I love you.

It was a bright sunny December day the snow was soft in the back round
The sound of cheering. But Will Hawk age 16 could care less. All he was focused on was his last run in the 2020 X games
.
A cyclone might have been going on. He had a hard time concentrating. He was behind.
“Come on top me” said Jon Albert also age 16. Jon was in 1st place.
Just then a booming voice rang out.
“Will hawk the U.S home town boy”
The crowd went wild.
I went down the half pipe.
First a 720. Next straight air 30 ft.
“
Wow I’m doing great.”
Now Front flip.
The world slowed down.
I shot off the last curve wasting no time I started back flips 1,2,3,4, back flips while spinning.
The crowd stood up. Fans were probably thinking
“Make it” or
“wow!”
Me the only thing going through my mind
“AHHHHHHHH”
I closed my eyes. It happened all so fast.
POW
“Wahoo”
I landed I just won the X games.
I saw bright sun. That was the last thing I saw for a minute before Jon tackled me
“Yeah man you did it.”
Chapter two
Still in school
Back in his CA mountain high school.
I was a star. My name was every where and being talked about in every classroom.
I was the big cheese. I wish it was always like this.
I even got to make a speech,
Before I even got to start I said
“Could I have Jon Albert come up to the front of the stage.”
The crowed fell silent.
Jon came up.
Then he said
“Cricket cricket”
The whole place exploded in a sonic boom.
Jon was red in the face
When it died down we started.
“Well it’s great and all to win but what about tomorrow you won’t car you will want the same old things you all ways do at school want new school stuff.”
“Well” said Jon a wide grin spreading across his face.
“With our win since we are normal kids too we will by the top two things you want”
“So go vote no” we said together
Back at home it was dark.
I went up to my room and polished my board.
Just then the doorbell rang.
At the door there was a reporter.
She was all smiles and asked me a bunch of questions and brought me in to the car.
We arrived at the local news station and the interview me. I didn’t care until she said “how do you fell about racing you friend Jon” what didn’t know that.
When they brought me home I went up to my room the floor was littered with broken glass my board gone. Looked out the window oar struck. Just then I saw a dark shape running on the street with a snow board my snow board.
I raced after him first he 20 ft away, 15 ft away, 10 ft away, 5 feet IMPACT. I shot a hand out a grabbed his shirt then pulled back and pulled back “who are you” “sarair howly he said I come for lucky board I will kill you in Olympics” “thanks that’s all I wanted to know”
4 years of training
It was the last run of the men’s half pipe and sure enough sarair and his partner were wining. Me and Jon were last and losing.
We started down the hill first a straight air 30 ft next a front flip thirdly a cork turn.
Lastly we were all in 1 2 3 4 back flips while spinning. “Ahhhhh”. POW “we did it we won gold yeah” just like 4 years a go sarair came up to me and punched me he was ticked off. Just like 4 four years a go I kicked him and kicked him over in the half pipe.

Prologue
It’s a cold dark night in Philadelphia. He didn’t see me. I called his name “Bounty!”
He turned around.
“Your next.” He said, and ran. I chased him. He ran longer. I chased. He stopped. I kicked his hand.
“What do you me your next.” I said, and we started a fist fight. With a punch here, and a kick there. Then he ran again. Sweat was dripping down my face, my lip was bleeding, and I have a black eye. “I will get you!” I shouted. No time to give up. I have to get him. I ran after. My heart ran with me as I jumped for him. I tackled him! It feels like I’ve just one a gold medal in the long jump at the Olympics. I got my hand cuffs out, but then he tripped me. “What!” I said in an angry way.
“This is the end for you my friend.” He said…

Chapter 1 Michael
Hi. My name is Michael Dicer. I’m 25 years old, I have two parents, pet hamster, a condo in south Philadelphia, I am a police officer, I have a partner named Carl, and I like it here. Today started off strange. First I saw this homeless boy on the street. Then at my meeting I found out there is two more criminals. Ones bad. Another’s worse.
The crowd roared as loud as they can. I’m here at the football game. On security. I sighed. “This is the NFC championship.” Said a football announcer
“A great mach up heh.” Said the other. Here’s the kick off. 2 hours later. This could be the win. Darn he drooped it. The winning pass. They lost 45-42. I’M REALLY MAD!
Chapter 2 red handed
I’m gonna capture the bad one. Not the really bad one. Just bad. His name is Ronald Jinkens. (Or Ron). I over heard some people talking about Ron being at town square. In the morning I told Chief Joe (the Chief of the police department). That I will be at town square for the whole day. So then I left.
It was quiet ‘tell Ron came. (Of course it had to be at my lunch break). I followed him he saw me. Then he ran. I went to my squad car. I got him now. He got in a motorcycle DUH! Every thief has a motorcycle. And here comes the chase. We strolled all around town. Finally he stopped at the bar. I called Chief Joe.
“I’ve found him.” I said
“Who?” he answered
“The Ron guy.” I said.
“Oh good.” He said
“I’m going in.” I said.
“I’ll be right there.” He said
Ok here I go. “Wooh” I said. This must be where the Eagles fans go. I found him. Trying to disguise him. He is playing pool. I snuck up behind and said “You’ve been caught. Caught red handed.” And put hand cuffs on him. And that’s right when the police come in. I did it.
Chapter 3 the accident
It’s all over. In the newspaper. On T.V. Every where in the streets of Philadelphia. I called my parents.
“Mom I caught a man. Who was really bad. I did it.” I said.
“That is great.” She said
“Yup. I know.”
“This is Evan Brown. Reporting on a car crash. 7 cars got in the accident. Here’s Bob with more of the action.”
“It was from a man named Jonathan Bounty. He shot a semi-truck that crashed into 6 other cars. Nobody died, but people got hurt.”
Yesterday was bad. Really bad. Next thing I know I’m at the hospital. I lost my leg.
3 weeks later.
I’m finally out. But one leg. I don’t like it. People staring at me. When ever I look in the I think “this isn’t me.”
I need a vacation. To relax and meet up with family members. I need to ask Joe if I can.
So when I went to the police department I asked Chief Joe if I could go. And he said yes.
The next day I’m off.
Chapter 4 the final Showdown
When I got there I saw a dirty note that read: if you ever want to see your parents again. Meet me at town park at 8:00 sharp...
From your worst enemy,
Jon Bounty.
I went back, and told Chief Joe every thing. He told me to go get him. (even though I have one leg). And that’s what I am going to do.
That night at 8:00 I was there.
“What do you want Bounty.” I said. he turned around.
“Death.”
“What.”
Then he ran. I chased. And of course a chase. Then he took a gun out. Stopped and Shot. he had bad aim and missed every time. I kicked his gun. And we started a fist fight. Finally I knocked him down, but then he tripped me took his gun from the ground and the police can rushing to me and took Jon’s gun out of his hands.
“Another successful capture by Michael Dicer.” Said Chief Joe. “Anything you would like to say.” He said
“Yes, you’ve been caught red handed.” I said. Then I saw my parents. “MOM DAD!”
Today’s my favorite day.

Bullies by Ngawang
Bullies
By: Ngawang
I woke up groggily in the middle night. I walked silently to the bathroom. THUNK! I heard something in my room. I tiptoed to my room and there was a plane on my bed. It was attached with a note. I sent a note back to Alice. She is my friend next door. Alice was scared of the dark. Then I read her letter. Oh no! Her parents were in her room. I tried to steer my plane out of there but her parents must have been holding it because it didn’t come out. But then her plane started moving. I pulled with all my might. Then it all stopped as soon it had begun. THOMP! “Fred?” I heard my mother call. Oh no!
The next morning I heard my mom chatting with Alice’s bossy mom. I’ll tell my husband about this, I heard my mom say. I jumped in my closet and changed. I stumbled down the stairs into the kitchen. My mom was tapping her foot. I took a quick bite of breakfast and went out. Ding went my bike.
Then I heard something. “Hey look! It’s the 4 year old 7th grader!” oh no! My heart thumped wildly as Bigboss and his gang surrounded me. The ugly gang was peter, bigboss, Chad, Tyson, Oscar, and Ryan. “What do you want from me?” I asked weakly. “Oh nothing much. Just your lunch money.” “I don’t have any.” “Then your bike.” “No way! My mom gave to me!” finder’s keeper’s loser’s weepers he said meanly. Bigboss ran away with my bike. “What about us?” the rest of the gang asked. I tried backing away but Oscar bumped me back. They had really had blown me off! SMACK! BOOM! CRACK! 2 minutes later they were all lying face down. I walked to school felling a little more confident.
When I got back home my dad was waiting for me. He lectured me about some boring stuff. Then I heard that I was grounded for one week. What!? I stomped to my room and slammed my door. I got my D.S out. Then I watched TV. I looked for my plane but my dad must have taken it. Then I heard a rap on my doors. It was Alice. “Your dad said I might calm you down a little.” I slumped down feeling tired. We talked about report cards. I had gotten a b+ in math, b- in music, a- in gym, and a in spelling. Of course Alice had gotten an a for everything. Then it was dinnertime. I said goodbye to Alice.
When I started walking to school this morning I was ready for the bullies. I saw them before they saw me. I climbed up the nearest tree. Right when they were over me, I pounced out and started kicking and punching. 3 minutes later there was only Bigboss. He had a scraped knee but he ignored it. I had blood on my elbows and bruises on my stomach but I tried to ignore the pain. He came and I ducked. He swiped at my legs. As I pounced in the air, he punched me in the stomach. I fell backward, knocking the wind out of me. As he stood over me, a stone came and hit him in the head. There was Alice. He cursed and threw the stone back, hitting her in the face. She fell back in pain. I jumped on him, tearing him to pieces. Finally he fled to school. Ring! Just in time.
There was the principal, waiting for me with Bigboss and his gang. “They told me that you beat them up” “but they were attacking me” explain the cuts and bruises. Umm……….. your mother and father will have to hear about this. Mine!? No Bigbosse’s. Yes! I ran out of the room feeling lucky. As I walking home, I heard something. I looked back but no one was there. Then I heard it again. At the last second I looked seeing blue shoes everywhere.
It was them. They were everywhere. SMACK! I fell down from the pain. I looked up to see Bigboss. Looked like he had more goons for his gang. That hurt? He laughed. If you tell the principal about us we will kill you. Everyday we will torture you. Then right then a hail of pebbles came raining down at the goons. It was Alice. But she wasn’t alone. There were people who were tortured by Bigboss. Most of the goons ran away, leaving a couple goons left. The rest of the goons ran toward the stone throwers. I tried getting up but the pain was too much. Then 30 strong guys came out and took on the goons. They were overrun by the guys. Only Bigboss was left standing. He was throwing them like rag dolls. The goons fled with 10 guys following. That left 20 to fight Bigboss. But some had retreated to the stone throwers. Then 3 retreated back home. That left 13 to fight Bigboss. Not enough. I tried to help but it was too late. He started charging to the remaining guys. They sent out a signal and the 10 guys came. They fought. Then I saw Bigboss fall so I started home. Then I saw the goons that had retreated. We tied Bigboss up and got ready. I sent one guy to gather as much as people he could. They came. We charged, leaving no mercy. The ones that passed our guard got killed by our sweepers. We were losing. Then I saw guys pour out of bushes. We got them to retreat. We left Bigboss like that and ran off.
The next morning I knocked on his office. The principal came. I will say something on the loudspeaker. They were suspended! This isn’t over yet!

DAYLIGHT
By Michael
1
It was a normal day for Tim. Tim lived in Edina. That night, His football team, the Edina Hornets were facing the Minnetonka Skippers in the state championship. It was a night game. The drive to the Metro Dome was about 15 minutes. It was huge.
The first play of the game the Skippers returned the kick for a touchdown. The next kick-off Edina returned it. The Edina returner got tackled so hard his helmet flew off.
“I don’t think so,” the defender growled.
At half time it was 13-3, Skippers.
The hornets got it back to 13-10. There was 0:04 seconds left. The quarterback handed the ball to Tim McCrew. 5 yards until the touchdown with four seconds left felt like 50 yards. He spun of a tackle…dove, waited for the call…TOUCHDOWN!!! The huge Metro Dome was teeming with cheering fans.
“All hail number 14” and “Go Hornets!” They cheered!
2
After high school, Tim went to the University of Nebraska. The campus was huge and teeming with people. Tim felt so good. He made the football team but Tim McCrew did not start. He was so furious!!
He thought he could make a name for himself in college football. His roommate Sam was a Left Tackle. He was big and nice. He started. Tim and Sam became good friends, and Sam knew how much Tim wanted to start.
Sam helped Tim get better and Tim started training harder. He used a lot of his free time lifting weights and getting better. He wanted to start and he wanted to play.
3
The first practice that season at Nebraska Tim thought he played well but the coach still knew he wasn’t good enough. He worked and trained hard but to the coach it wasn’t enough. Next thing Tim knew the first game of the season was the next day. “I hope you have a good game” Tim said mopily to Sam as they walked backed to the dorm room.
“Me to” Sam said. “Just wait Tim, someday I’ll be blocking for you while you run for daylight” When they got to there dorms they went to sleep.
4
The first game Tim did not touch the ball. He felt sulky and mad. He was also benched for the second game…and the third…and the fourth…fifth…sixth…seventh…eighth…ninth…tenth…eleventh…and the twelfth game. His whole freshman season at Nebraska was over and he didn’t play once.
“Should I quit football?” Tim said to Sam when they were studying.
“Nah, someday I’ll block for you and you’ll run for daylight just like I said.”
5
The first practice of the off-season at Nebraska Tim played better than ever. All the training had paid off. He was beastly in the drills and was unbelievable in the scrimmage. By the end of practice he was so tired he wanted to just drift off to sleep but he had studying to do.
The next day he got a call from his coach. He went to his coach’s office. He sat down in the empty chair by his desk.
“You played really well at practice, I thought you should get some more playing time” Coach Sampson said.
“Thanks” Tim said excitedly.
“You’re not going to start but we’ll sub you in sometimes.” said coach.
“That’s fine” said Tim
“Unless…” coach said “…unless you get a lot better.”
“That’s great!” Tim said and he left for his classes.
6
The first game was a home game at Nebraska. Tim got the ball three times. One of them was a 30 yard touchdown. One was a 5 yard gain and one was a -4 yard run. There team one 10-7.
In practice he played well except in game two he did not get the ball. The practice after game two he played as good as he did in the off-season. He got another call. He was going to play more often! By the tenth game he had fourteen touchdowns and was a Heisman contender.
In the eleventh game he had started for five games. IN the eleventh game he played his best college game ever so far. He scored four touchdowns and racked up 184 yards!! He had sweat dripping down his face in the first five minutes. They won 35-14! There record was now 9-2. They were ranked number 4 in the country.
7
Game twelve was a home game against number 3 in the country. Tim got the first handoff, he ran up the middle for 4 yards. He got the ball 21 times for 123 yards. After that game the Big Twelve Championship was next it was number 3 Nebraska against Number 2 Texas. Tim played really well. He got 142 yards and 4 touchdowns. One of his touchdowns came with 0:10 seconds left. They won 21-17! They were number 2 in the country and were going to play in the national championship. Tim was a Heisman contender so he was at the Heisman ceremony. The voting was close but time didn’t win. Tim was happy for the winner. Tim flew back to Nebraska for practice before the big game.
8
Tim and his team flew to Florida, the sunshine state because that’s where the national championship was being held. Tim had practiced hard and was really pumped. Tim and his team were having fun and practicing hard. Before they knew it, it was the day of the big game. The Nebraska Cornhuskers were playing the number 1 USC Trojans. The teams quickly went to the middle of the field for the coin toss. The Cornhuskers were going to receive the kick. They had a good return. The crowd was blaring. The first play was a running play to Tim. Tim got the handoff, Sam blocked and Tim ran for daylight just like Sam had said.

“Mine!” Niki yelled. Niki jumped for the ball and bumped it back. “Niki!” cried a voice.
“What?” Niki cried
“Jump up”
“Ok” Niki said in a sigh. A jump up is when you jump up and spike the ball back. The game had 10 seconds left on the clock. Niki out of breath jump up and spike the ball back. Arrrrrr that was the buzzer we won the game. Jenny Nikis best friend said “we are going to the play offs”
“Yeah I know “then Niki got a call. “Hay Jenny a scout is going to be at are game.”
“Cool”
“Yeah I guess so”
Niki was at home in her room working on her setting. She could not stop thinking about the scout being at her game. Niki did not tell her mom or dad about the game. She practices every day even though the game was a month away. The next day was the game. Niki got up early got ready and left. It was Saturday. The game was about to begin and Niki got really nerves. Niki saw the scout and got butterflies. Niki moved fast on the court. After the game was over Niki went home and what’d for the letter a week later she got the letter. It said the California cats would love her you to be on there team.
I was so excited the California cats won the championships almost every year. The couch is Mary Lopez, one of the best couches in the world. Nikis parents were so exited and Niki was too. I left on Friday. Las Vegas to California.
I met the couch and my new team. Mary said Hello in a nice voice
I said hi back.
Mary asked if I wanted to see my new room.
I said yes. Mary led me to my new room. It was beautiful. There were flowers every ware. My new home was beautiful. Mary gave me a list about the poperatze. I read it it said don’t look at them don’t talk to am don’t let theme see you. A new life was about to start for me I could tell.
It was Sunday and Mary gave me a jersey. It was purple and it had a cat on it. A game was tomorrow it began at 8:00pm. I headed for my room after practice. I was exhausted. I got on my bed and called my mom. We talked for an hour. When I was off the phone I went to sleep.
It was Monday and the game was in 7 hours. I went to lunch with the team I got a burger. The game was 4 to 10, and we were winning. “Couch I am going to get a water”
“ok ”she said.
I walk to the concession stand. I ran in to a guy holding a milk shake. “Crap” my jersey” I said.
“I can fix that”
“Yeah but in 20 minutes” I asked
“Yes” follow me”
He took me to the supply closet and took bleach and stuff I didt know the name of.
“What’s your name” I asked”
“James “he said “yours”
“Niki”
“Cool” wola good as new!”
“Thanks I said”
“will see you on campus”
“yes well I got to get back to my game”
“ok bye” James said.
As I walked away I thought James was kind of cute.
Are team is winning a lot of games. Know I cant go out of my dorm with out getting attacked by the paparazzi. I try to follow the tips Mary gave me but thay seam to work. My life is turning in to a circus. For example I went to get a coffee and the paparazzi would not stop surrounding me. I am considering quieting the league.
I told my mom that I want to quit the league. And she said me and your father would be disappointed in you. James and I have become good friends. I told him and he said not to quit so I am thinking if I should or not. And now my grades are dropping. I need at least get a C+ on my test. So I am missing this week’s game to study.
Good news I got an A on test and I have decided not to quit. I told my mom and dad and they are happy. The championships are coming up and we are playing the Ohio Indians. They are not gust good they are not just good they are very good. Mary says we have practice every night. I don’t know how we are going to beat theme but it has to happen.
“Come on girls,” Mary said. Practice is getting harder every day.
“Why are you so up tight?” I asked Mary. All she did was yelling at us.
She said “I don’t like the coach. She was so mean in high school.”
I told the team and they promised to do there best.
Well, today is the is the game and I am nervous. I can’t stop thinking about the team loosing. I know I should not think that way but it is hard not to. Today I could not pay attention on school. 6pm was the game and it felt like time was ticking faster then it should. It was 5:30 and I got ready. Mary said we would be playing in the new gym. I walked through the big doors and saw Mary and my team. The gym was packed. My mom and dad where there in the front row. I was shocked.
“Hi honey,” my dad said. He gave me a huge hug and so did my mom. I also saw the Ohio Indians and their coach. They looked hard to beat but this has to happen. Then I heard the speaker say “lets begin.” I got into my position. Nyomi served the ball to my head but I hit it. It hit the floor with a smack. It went like that for a while. Then the score was 24 to 24, we were tied. Madi from my team served the ball over the net. A girl hit it back over. My team yelled my name to make sure I was ready. I bumped it over and then back over and over again. Finally, a girl slipped and missed it. The ball hit the floor.
“We won!” my team yelled. “We won!” I yelled. Everyone started to yell and scream. James ran down from the stand and hugged me. Then we shook hands with the other team. A trophy was brought out and we all got our picture taken. After the action died down, our team went to dinner and toasted to a great year. I could already tell I wanted to play next year.

Chapter 1
When I woke up it was midnight when I looked at the time. Someone was yelling and shaking me, but then I woke up for real. My mom was trying to wake me up to get ready. “Why did you sleep in? Didn’t you remember was your first race!” My mom said.
“Uh-oh. I didn’t remember!” I thought.
So I got out of bed got a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and a sweat shirt. Finally, I helped get loaded up. Then we were on our way to Elko Speed Way.
Chapter 2
When we got to Elko I saw many different faces. Then I bumped into my best friend who raced and lived right next door. Her name is Anika. We have been friends since kindergarten.
“Hey Dan! When did you start racing?” Anika asked.
“I just started! Do you want to see my car?” I said.
“Sure, but it has to be quick.” She exclaimed.
Then we got to my car and it was quick, so after she left I started to get ready to drive.
Chapter 3
“Ok sweetie your race is next are you ready?” My dad asked.
I nodded nervously. I was shaking inside the car. I could feel the sweat falling down my face. I looked over to see all the cars I am racing and in my stomach I got butterflies. Then I hear
“Racers start your engines.”
Then I knew they were ready for us on the track. My dad said
“Well here you go time for your 1st race”
He had a giant smile on his face. I was so nerves when the green flag dropped!
Chapter 4
Then I see the yellow flag go out and I see Ankia had Spun OUT! I wanted to cry but my dad told me before the race to stay tough. That’s how my fear of flipping started. Then the red flag goes out. When I saw her clime out of the car and take off her helmet, I saw her face bright red with tears coming down her face. I knew she was hurt. I wanted to climb out of the car to comfort her, but I didn’t so I stayed in the car. Then I see people helping Anika as see limps off the track.
Chapter 5
Then after the race I go to Anika’s trailer. She was crying so hard! I notice her leg was all swollen up, so after a couple of minuets she had to go to the hospital. Before she left she told me to do good and be careful. The next race I didn’t see Anika in the stands or anywhere, so I tried to think about the race. Then right in the middle of the race I got spun out! I was so worried I would flip, but I didn’t. I was so glad. The next race I saw Anika in the stands cheering me on with a broken leg. I feel a smile appear on my face. Then the world went silent for a while, but then someone spins me out and another person hits me really hard and I FLIP! Oh-no not a DNF (did not finish). I thought about what Anika said before she left as we brought the car to the trailer.
Chapter 6
“Why did I have to flip and get a DNF dad?” I asked him.
“Well flipping happens in racing. I thought you really wanted to race!” he said.
It was the intermission. My dad said to me
“Honey I don’t know for sure if the car will be done in time for the feature because you have a broken shock, Radius rod and the chain fell off. Why don’t you go say hi to Anika while I try to fix your car?”
My race was in two minutes and I checked up on my dad, he was still working on the car, but I knew the car wouldn’t fixed in time for the feature.
Chapter 7
After the race I got loaded up and went home with Anika. We hug out for a while. Then I went home and did all my homework. Finally, I fell asleep. I saw Anika Flipping over and over and over. I thought for sure she was dead.
Chapter 8
The next Sunday morning I heard my alarm clock go off. I wake up. I was wondering where I was, but I finally figured out I was at home. It was 6:30 in the morning. My mom was in my room seeing if I was getting ready. She was dress and had her hair done. It was like she woke up at 5:30 in the morning. I was helping and finally got to the race track. When it was my race I came in last! AGAIN!!!!!! Then on my feature race I came in 2nd to last.
Chapter 9
After we got home I pulled my dad aside to talk to him. I told him that I didn’t want to race anymore. He told me to just do 1 more race and see if you like it or not. Well the next Sunday after racing, I told him that I LOVED it!!!
Chapter 10
On my 3rd race day I was so happy about my decision to keep racing. Or I wouldn’t get to have fun things to do. When the feature finally came I was really tired. They sent me to the back because I needed to work on my starts. At 10 laps to go I was in 2nd and then I got to 1st with 1 lap to go. Then I WON!!!!! I got to go around the track with the CHECKER FLAG!!! Then I got to go to Victory Lane. I got a feature win sticker to put on my car. I went home I went to sleep right as we get home and had a great story to tell at school!

Chapter 1: The new house
Hi my name Shelby. I have 1 sister named Courtney and one brother named Jake. My family and I are moving to this town called Blue Lake.
Were in the car driving. Courtney starts to fiddle everything she can find. Courtney I say please stop and I hand her a piece of gum. I feel her hand quickly grab it leaving a scratch.
Jake starts to be a dog for no apparent reason. Jake I say why are you acting like a dog? He replies “woof woof!”
Were here says mom and dad together. I quickly race out of the car, and feel a cold breeze run across my face. I open the door ever so slowly. I take off my shoes and race up the stairs.
I open the door to my room, and see the sky blue walls I wanted. I start to explore my new house. I see three different bedrooms and one master bedroom. I race down the stairs almost knocking over Jake.
Since Jake is four he’s into “Thomas the train” and Courtney’s into animals. There was one empty bedroom with white walls. I am curios to see what the empty room is for. I noticed it was sort-of an old house.
I was in my room unpacking, and then I hear a noise it’s my bed its…it’s squeaking. It stops just as Courtney and Jake come in. We sit on the floor and the door handle jiggles. It’s mom I breathe a big sigh of relief. I told her what happened and she said “Na that didn’t happen.” “It’s just your imagination.”
I turn on my radio and forget all about it. Next thing I know I’m done. Courtney and Jake must of left sometime.
Chapter 2: Real?
I began thinking after I was done was it my imagination? Was I really just having a weird thought? I got dressed for bed. Squeak, squeak, squeak. It’s coming from drawers there opening and closing “MOM DAD” I screamed. They come in rushing with Courtney and Jake following. I say wait as they sit on my bed. It starts up again. We see a mist a greenish white mist.
Chapter 3: Mystery!?!
So after that happened I went in to Jakes bed. I woke up like whoa where I am I? I told Jake I was leaving. He got up slowly and wanted me to carry him. I toke him into the living room, and turned on “Curious George” (his favorite show).
I made myself breakfast. Courtney and mom were already in the kitchen. I said “Good morning” they said “Good morning” back together. I ate a doughnut for breakfast.
I went to my room forgetting about the ghost. My clothes were all over the floor they were in my drawers before. I went out of my room and asked my family and no one did it. My mom came to my room with me. Everything was put away but a t-shirt.
Chapter 4: Finding out who did it.
Since nobody did it in my family did it. We think it’s the ghost. We aren’t positive but, were pretty sure. What do you think?
Chapter 5: Surprise!
Mom had a surprise for Dad, Courtney, Jake, and I. Went to the kitchen and sat on the polished wood stools. She told us to close are eyes. I heard the rustling of paper. She told us to open them. She held out a sign that said “Baby Alert”. She said she’s going to have another baby. She pulled out a boy list and a girl list. Were all excided for the baby to come. I put down River, Jon, and Maddy. I really like those names.
Chapter 6: Baby boy or girl?
Mom slid a card under my bed room door. It said in big bold letters “IT’S A BOY!” Then it said Jonathan. I went down to the kitchen, and asked mom why she chose Jonathan. She said “Because dad and I like it” I walk back to my room and my desk is knocked over completely. I ran back to my room to tell mom. I grabbed her by her hand. Ghost again I thought maybe, maybe not.
Chapter 7: What now?
Now what am I suppose to do? I am getting so frustrated!!! This is so confusing!!!! I don’t get it WHY ME?!? I just need time to figure things out step by step.
I’m going to ask mom if I can have the empty room. So Jon or Courtney or Jake. “Mom”
“Yes Sweetie”
“Can I have the empty room?”
“Sure I don’t see why not, but ask your father first.”
“Okay” I say and race down the stairs to dad’s office.
“Dad can I have the empty room up stairs?” “Mom says it’s alright with her.”
“Sure go unpack your things then put them in the hallway.”
“Thanks dad love you!”
Chapter 8: Switching rooms
Well my room is now bigger. I start to walk back my room, and I hear a crash, smash, smash. I walk in scared to death. Green mists are, are everywhere. The door slams behind me. Somebody’s talking to me how I killed them.
“You killed me Mary why, why did you kill me?” “My own daughter killed me!” “I’ll never in a million years be a, a proud father.” “You said I killed myself!”
“I’m Shelby not Mary please don’t hurt me I begging you please, please don’t hurt me!!”
I feel my heart pounding out of chest as I race to my parent’s bedroom and grab mom.
We go back in together.
“Mary, Mary, Mary don’t lie.”
“DON’T HURT ME PLEASE!!!!” I got to be brave I say in my head as I nudge mom with my elbow.
We get out of the room. I go down the stairs so fast I almost trip over Courtney. Courtney’s counting, I see Jake hide behind the couch. I ask dad
“Do we have an attic?”
“Yup.”
“Can you show it to me?”
“Sure can”
Chapter 9: Attic
We go up three flights of stairs. Dad opens a door we see another flight of stairs. Dad grabs a flash light. We go threw the dusty door. I see darkness. Dad turns the flashlight on. Everything’s old and dusty. I see a window its open. I tell dad that the windows open. We see a computer. There’s string and a new microphone.
We wake the computer it says “I’m haunting this family totally awesome!”-Joe 123. We go down the attic stairs and grab a video camera from the kitchen. We disguise it as a book. We made sure we could see out of the camera.
Next we called the police. One cop stayed on the stairs with dad. Because when the guy started to “haunt” us they would bust through the door. There were green mists everywhere. It stopped everyone ran up the stairs. There was that guy his name was Joe Smith. He got arrested for three years, for breaking in and “haunting” us.
Chapter 10: Jonathan
Well I almost forgot during all this Jonathan was born. He’s such a cutie! We brought him home today. He’s already learning. I found string in Jon’s room, leading to my drawers.

Friends, Bullies, and Bystanders by Jon
Friends, Bullies, and Bystanders
Chapter 1: Introduction
It was a humid day at recess, and Jeff had sweat beading down his face. He was steaming. Will was very tired from running. Jeff was 10 years old, and so was Will. They both go to Cantonray School in Edina, Minnesota. Jeff is afraid of heights, and Will is jealous of Jeff. They both don’t know about each other’s secrets. Jeff is the main QB, and Will is the Safety. They both love football, baseball, and hockey. And there is one word for them in sports. That word is …determination. They both are determined to win. They even stay at practice for an extra hour!
Chapter 2: The school day
It was recess time, and Jeff was playing Will’s team in football. Jeff said hike and threw it to his friend, who caught it and ran for a touchdown. Everybody on Jeff’s team was screaming yeah! Then Will came up to Jeff and said “let’s race on the climbing wall”. (Just to tell you readers this is a 45ft. climbing wall.)
Jeff said “sure, but when?”
Will told him “right now”. So they both went to the climbing wall, and they got ready to start. One of the kids said “go”. Will and Jeff took off racing super quickly, both tied. Now up to 10 ft, 15ft, 20ft! But then… Jeff jumped! It was too high for him. Luckily Will accidently missed a rock, and fell. With 5ft to the ground Jeff grabbed a rock, but so did Will. They took off again at 10ft, 20ft, 30ft, 40ft, and now Jeff used all his energy to quickly climb the last 5 feet, but it wasn’t enough. Will got there right before him. The whole crowd was shocked. And then the bell rang, with Jeff feeling sad, and disappointed.
Chapter 3: Will finds out
When they were walking home that day Will said “how did you lose”. Jeff and him had a big conversation after that.
Jeff: Promise you won’t tell anyone”.
Will:” I promise”. Jeff:” cross your heart”. Will: … “There I crossed it”.
Jeff:” Okay… I’m afraid of heights”. Will just stood there.
Chapter 4: Becoming friends
The next day at school Jeff didn’t hear anyone telling him that he’s afraid of heights, so that means that Will didn’t break his promise. Later that day Jeff said to Will “want to be friends”.
Will answered “…..Yes”! Then they started hanging out at lunch, in class, even at home. They were becoming best friends. They would eat dinner with each other, go to stores with each other, and if they couldn’t sleep over they would stay over until 9:30 p.m. They even forgot all about when Will found out that Jeff is afraid of heights.
Chapter 5: Word is spreading
Jeff walked into school that day, and kids were yelling “Jeff’s afraid of heights”.
Jeff yelled “Will”. But Will said it wasn’t him. So Jeff looked at Bobby Frankenson, who was smiling. Then Jeff grabbed his shirt collar, and said “how did you find out”?
Bobby answered “… I heard you and Will”.
Jeff questioned “where”. Bobby told him “when you were walking home”. Later that day Jeff told Will that Bobby did it. Will go so mad, the next day when it was quiet, he grabbed Bobby and threw him towards the wall! Bobby hit it with a “thump”! Luckily there were no teachers around.
Chapter 6: Welcome to Northwood Elementary
The next day, after school Jeff said “I’m switching schools”.
Will answered “me too”. They both told their parents they want to go to Northwood. There parents said “why”. They told them about people making fun of Jeff and Will, because Will is friends with a scaredy cat. So the next day they walked into Northwood and the teachers said “welcome to Northwood elementary”. Jeff and Will quickly searched the school. They both thought it was amazing. So the next day they started school, and loved it. Everyone was nice, the food was great, and they had 90 minutes of gym! At Cantonray they only got 45 minutes.
Chapter 7: Recess ends badly
The second day at school went well, until recess. People were yelling, and it was the worst recess ever. Jeff got punched. He wasn’t even QB in football. Will got kicked, and he wasn’t the safety. Jeff ended up with a bloody nose, and Will ended up with a big slash right on his calf. Plus Jeff got a study hall slip for tomorrow, because he was late with a bloody nose. Of course, Will went with him, so he got a slip too. And worst of all the supervisors didn’t care. They just said “get a touchdown”. It was like, they enjoy kids getting hurt. So Jeff told the principal, and he said it would all be better tomorrow, the next day, and all the other days that you’re at Northwood.
Chapter 8: Bullies, supervisors, and bystanders
It was a rainy day at Northwood, and Jeff was really sad, because he knew it was going to be a bad day. So did Will. And then Mike (the bully) came in and stuck Will in a locker. Jeff on the other hand, got locked outside for 30 minutes in the pouring rain. Jeff got Will out and told him that they should go tell a teacher. But then Mike grabbed them, and chucked them into the trash. There were banana peels, pop cans, spilled milk, raw chicken, and tons more. Jeff got out smelling horrible, and decided to go to the gym and take a shower. So did Will. But when Jeff was in the shower, Mike took his towel. Luckily he brought an extra towel. But Will didn’t. So Will ran around naked for 1 minute, across the whole boy’s locker room. Then he found a towel. Jeff wasn’t in there any more so no one saw him. During study hall Mike kept punching Will and Jeff. There were even bystanders. Just saying “go Mike”!
And “kill them”. And for 2 days in a row the supervisors didn’t do anything. Jeff and Will were getting sick of this school. They decided it was time.
Chapter: Going back
It was a humid day and Jeff decided he wanted to go back to Cantonray. Of course so did Will. They wanted to, because Cantonray was better than Northwood. So, they went back, and surprisingly nobody was mean. Until recess. Then kids were screaming “came back for more taunting”. Jeff and Will didn’t listen to them. They just thought it was nice to be back. The next day Jeff had enough. People kept saying that he was a baby who’s afraid of heights. So Jeff went up and punched one kid. It was right in the face, and Jeff looked like Rocky. Will got super mad for people saying he was friends with a scaredy cat. So, Will punched someone in the face. After recess Jeff, and Will got study hall passes for tomorrow. So the next day, they went to study hall. But when they came back a kid said “you are so useless”. So Jeff socked him 3 times in the face. Plus Will kicked him in the leg. After that Jeff got a 3 day suspension. So did Will. Their parents were furious. But even though they got grounded both for 2 weeks, and couldn’t play with each other for 1 week they still couldn’t help, but laugh. And on the first day of suspension Jeff called Will and said “oh it’s good to be back”. The End

“The equivalent to N=3,532.”
“You are correct!”
“Yes!” said Ms. Washington.
Just a second my name is sticky Washington my mom is Ms Washington and my dads name is Mr. Washington. I just won the 2010 world math championship and I won $1,000,000. My mom only cares about money not me.
The plane ride was long and dreary. When I got back to the house I went up to my room to do my homework. After I finished my homework I showed it to my mom.
“Sticky! Why did you get this question wrong!” she said.
“Sorry” I mumbled in a sarcastic tone. Maybe I should just leave this dump.
“What are you calling this a dump and if you leave this place how will you get me and your dad get rich.”
“That’s it!” I said “I am leaving this place!” I quickly grabbed my stuff and left. I was actually hiding in the shed and I snacked on stuff that they stored there. The next day I heard them say “lets give up we can find another smart boy.” I never thought they would say that so I started tearing up.
I found the nearest train and I hid in the boxcar. In the boxcar my eyes felt heavy to the rhythm of the clikety clack of the wheels turning on the track. After the ride I was as skinny as a rail but I dragged on. When I saw a hot dog vender it felt as if a wave washed all over me I was drooling all over the hot dogs and the vender got really mad that I was ruining them.
Later I went to a park and I found a bench to sleep on. Right when I was about to fall asleep I felt something hit me I looked around and all I found was an old newspaper. When I looked at it I saw a head line it said ARE YOU A KID WHO IS LOOKING FOR A ADVENTURE I looked at the location where you take some tests and I knew it was really close. In the morning I hurried over to the house and I found the rooms where you take the tests and the other kids trying out were there too. After the test the person that was like a teacher said…
“The only one that passed the test is Sticky Washington!”
I was grinning from ear to ear. The teacher said I could go to the court yard but nowhere else.
When I got into the courtyard I could hear the birds chirping the air was crispy and there were little piles of snow left over from the big thaw. When I was just about to go in I saw a girl going in too. Right when I was about to say hi she said I know all of the answers and I can tell you them. I just shrugged and turned her down. When I got in the test room I looked at the questions and I knew I should have cheated. I pretty much guessed on all of the questions but at the end of the test the teacher said
“The only kid to pass is sticky Washington!”
After every kid left the teacher led me to a maze. When I got in the maze I found a door to another room. I hurried into it and it looked like the last room and when I went into another room it looked the same so I kept doing that until I found a stair case. I hurried up it and at the top I saw a biff guy and he led me to a room and I gasped. The other kids who passed were in there but it was filled with books I mean filled. Right then a guy came in and said
“Congratulations on passing all of the tests.”
At the last meal of the day the guy said we are going on a mission to the island of the institute. We all asked why and after dinner he brought us up to a room and told us to listen to the T.V. we all gasped we asked
“What was that?”
He said it was the institute. The next day I heard the growl of an engine and the crunch of tires. I looked out the window and I thought that was my moms car and when she got out I felt really happy. And right when I got down there I rememberd that my parents don’t care about me. And right when I was about to go back up stairs my parents grabbed me. And the guy and my parents started arguing and then my parents brought me home. The drive home was long and dreary and when I got there they pushed me up against a wall and asked me why I ran away I answered…
“I left because you only cared about money not me.”
Then they got so mad and they sent me to my room and start cracking the books.
PROLAUGE
Now that I am older I still wonder what the kids did at the institute. After I left the house my parents thought they had all of the money in the world but they wasted it on different stuff.
Now I am a math teacher at Harvard and I am finally happy.

$2,000 Race by Davanti
$2,000 race
By Davanti
The day of the street car race was hot and sunny. The day was very humid.
As Desmond got ready for his race, he noticed there was nothing wrong with the car at home. He was going to the busy start line.
Desmond felt the car shaking. The horn blew as he put his foot on the gas.
The car was still shaking. OH NO! The tire had popped. The flat tire made the car go slower. He pushed on the gas and the car broke down. He went to fix it and he couldn’t and the street crew came. They asked if he needed help. He said he needed their help. They discovered he needed to put more gas in his car and they put some in the tank. The car also needed a new tire. Finally the busy race started again.
Desmond was going so fast that it made the police monitor go crazy. They started at a stoplight. They went to downtown Minneapolis and end by the Mill City Museum. Desmond was in the lead. He was going 200 miles an hour and the Mustang was going 100 miles an hour. The slow, old, broke down Mustang lost, and Desmond’s new, hot ride won!

It was cold and dark as the wind howled by the house. The door opening and closing as the wind pushed it. I heard footsteps outside. It was just properly mom.
I heard footsteps again. Louder and louder they grew until BOOM! The door shot open.
I started to think it was dad but I didn’t know who it was because he just ran by me super quickly.
I got close to the corner of the door… BANG!
If dad was here then who was at the door?
Dad just turned the corner when I heard another bang. Dad fell. He fell hard. I wanted to turn the corner, but I didn’t know what happened to him.
I found out what was behind the door but I wished I hadn’t. I didn’t turn but what ever it was, it turned! I heard another bang! That was the last thing I heard because it got me in the leg. I saw something pass over me, another thing then fell on me, it was then black. I didn’t know what happened because that was all I could remember.
-------------------------
“Ahhhh!” I heard a yell from her room.
“What is it now?” did she need help getting breakfast or what? Should I even bother to walk in?
As I was about to walk in I remembered something!
There was a strange mysterious lady. Mom and the mysterious lady were in a fight! The lady was losing. She looked nice she kind of looked like me! I hope she won though shed didn’t look like a lady who would attack someone! The fight was over! The lady had lost. Game over. Gone, gone forever in the world.
I wish I could at least known her.
“Get over here!”
I realized she saw me when I was day dreaming.
Through out my life I tried to be very stealthy for this reason.
I didn’t know if I should even bother to walk in? Maybe someone was willing to take me in? Maybe it was another bad home though. Well couldn’t get much worst then this I kept thinking to my self. It was a no brainer! Just go for it. Why not? I wheeled out the door as fast as I could with she yelling at me but I didn’t care because I was free!
---------------------------
Even walking for about one week, I’m not sure I can take this much longer.
“Who’s there?”
I was about to take off until he stopped me.
“Don’t be scared fellas,” he said. “I don’t bite!” he started to chuckle.
“Um… hi,” I replied.
“What brings you here?”
“I’m running away,” I answered but then I started to think he was going to turn me and bring me home again.
“More like wheeling away. Hey look, wheeling away isn’t always the answer.
“Better then a mean mom?”
“Look, she’s your mom.”
I couldn’t argue with that, “I wish she wasn’t though,” I said as I started to go in the other direction.
“I ran away too and I will always regret it from this day on. Don’t make the same mistake I did,” he said.
Could he be right? Of course not! I just kept going until I didn’t see him any more. Could he actually be right though?
--------------------------
I was just getting close to down town with the wind pushing me and with the sun right on top of me.
I found a shiny new quarter with the sound of “cha-ching” in my ears.
I was still thinking about my dreams. How come the lady started the fight? After all she did look really nice any way. Maybe, just maybe she didn’t. Maybe mom did! After all she never was the nicest person, but maybe the lady didn’t lose the fight! Maybe mom really isn’t my mom! Maybe, just maybe. There were the maybes again, after all what are the chances are? 50-1? But why would mom bring someone home just to fight? Maybe mom was the lady who came home and won but the mysterious lady was just defending! Maybe she was my mom! It was the maybes again but this wasn’t one, this was a sure thing! It’s too late to think about that, I need some rest I thought.
------------------------
I woke up to the sound of sweet humming birds and the sound of polluting cars next to a garage pole.
It only toke me seconds to remember my dreams.
Since all of my parents were dead but the lady who was taking care of me was super mean and in some of my flashbacks. So she isn’t my mom, but the murderer of both my parents.
I was getting hungry now. I hadn’t eaten anything for a while so I stopped by Snuffy’s to think. I took the booth by the window. I stared out the window and saw fancy house after fancy house but the one that stood out was an old one. It was all beaten up with a broken window and a hole in the roof with an orange sign that said “Lukesdale Orphanage.” I was tired of running and I thought I was done too. Maybe this was the place to stop? I had a bad feeling in my gut but now it was almost gone.
Knock knock it sounded like as my knuckles bumped the door.
“Who’s there?” a sweet and welcoming voice said from inside as the door began to open.
“Uh, I have been traveling for a while and I , um want to stop please. My parents are dead and I want a home please, may I have one please?”
“Oh you weary little angle.” She said as a young adult walked out the door. “Oh please come in, you must be freezing and cold. Please stay with us and come in.”
There were about six other kids telling stories and laughing.
I just relaxed in my chair and sat back. My life has changed forever.
