Morkie by Kathryn

Chapter 1
Charlie saw the glaring lights, she heard the barking and whining of the puppies, the squawking of birds, and the squeaking of mice. She saw the faces of the dogs light up as she entered the room. The whole place seemed magical. As she walked around she took it all in and then right in front of her… the perfect puppy.
Chapter 2
“I have been waiting only 2 minutes for their employee to bring me the puppy to hold, but it seems like forever.’’ ’’Two minutes later she comes holding that puppy like a baby.’’ She tells me to “be carful” I tell her ok. she picked her up and she sat in her lap as mellow and calm as possible. She pet her soft hair and scratched her small ears and she sat there like a stuffed animal and right then and there I knew she was perfect.
Charlie asked her parents with her best puppy dog eyes to please get her. Charlie’s mom said no. She said it was to much money and that they didn’t have space for her. Her heart was crushed. As she walked through the pet shop doors she just got even sadder. In the car she leaned on her mom and cried.
Chapter 3
As Charlie and her mom drove to Target on the bumpy road she looked out of the window and day dreamed about her dog, and when they got there Charlie bought a notebook with puppies on the front and back. She did this because she had a plan. Her plan was to use that notebook to write any facts she finds on the computer or books, and that might get her parents convinced that she could take care of a dog herself. So she started working.

Chapter 4
May 26, 2010
‘’Charlie’’ called her mom ‘’lunch is ready.’’ ‘’I’m not done with research, and it’s really interesting.’’ Charlie wrote in her diary… “I have been working almost all day today. It has to work I have been figuring out stuff like what type of bowl to get, and that’s the kind that is heavy so the dog doesn’t tip it over and it can’t have led in the metal or paint so the dog doesn’t get sick, and a bunch of other stuff, I have to go eat lunch now but I’ll see you in a little bit.”
Chapter 5 May 27, 2010
’’Guess what!’’ ’’Yesterday the neighbors got a dog!’’ I sprinted over to meet the new dog it was small and fuzzy. I couldn’t believe they got one and I have working and waiting longer. I asked what type it was and they said it was a Morkie. She played on their trampoline but only for a little because she wanted to get home and do some research on Morkies to see if they were a good math for her. They were! They don’t shed, they are lap dogs, and much more. She has a whole page in her notebook for information on morkies and she was hoping to find more much.
Chapter 6
The bell just rang and she could finally leave school. She walked home with some of her friends and as she talked she heard the wind whistling through the tree tops, and the rustling of bushes as animals ran into them. She talked and listened until they had to go separate ways. When I got home I went to the kitchen to get a snack. When I sat down to eat my animal crackers I heard a noise it sounded like whining. I thought it was the wind. I started eating. Then I heard it again. I slowly walked up to my room to see what it was and there was a puppy sitting on my bed. Then my parents came to the door. They said ’’we know you have been waiting a long time and worked very hard and we made up our minds that it was time.’’ she ran over to them and gave them a huge hug. ’’thank you so much ’’ she said. After they finished talking, she picked up the puppy. She was so warm and fuzzy. She looked up at me. She said ’’I am going to name you Muzzy because you are so fuzzy!’’ She licked her face and she laughed she knew she was perfect.
